need help with sling swivel for SBE II

I recently purchased a new SBE II with a synthetic stock. I also bought Uncle Mikes Swivels for a sling. The problem is that the swivel will not (fit) close totally. It seems that the synthetic stock and the stud that is also synthetic and is one with the stock, is too wide. Does anyone know a sling or swivel that will fit the SBE II synthetic stock stud?
