How long should my spring be for a full length mag tube? I dont know if the previous owner put a new one in or just kept the old one. My current one is 26.5 in long, just sitting out on a table.

No, Despite the limiter that is in place on the mag tube when you purchase the M4, The spring is same spring that Benelli uses with a full length tube.

 

I recommend the Wolff spring from Carriercomp though if you want to upgrade

The Carriercomp W.C. Wolff spring and Brownells follower are compared to the Benelli factory parts below. I didnt notice a difference while shooting but the spring is much stronger and the follower is all aluminum versus the aluminum and plastic Benelli factory part.
