You know ... You've picked one M4 question that I truly have no about.

 

I just looked through the 4 different m4 manuals I have ... none of them mention any technical machining specs.

 

Your best bet would be to direct this question to someone who works with metal ... I imagine any machinist worth his salt would be able to tell you this answer.
