TacStar mag extension for Nova Pump...Keep away!

Ordered a new TacStar mag extension last year, but never installed. Well, some of the family wanted to go shooting at our local range. So, I installed the mag extension. Tightened very nicely, but definitely didn't overtight. I then installed a barrel clamp.

 

On the way to the range I snagged a 100-pack of Federal bird shots from Wal-Mart.

 

Fast forward to the shooting. After about 25 shells fired/cycled...I noticed I can hear the spring when all shells are spent. I take a look at my mag extension and the tube had backed-out of its threaded knuckle about a quarter of an inch. Of course at that moment I stopped firing the shotgun and quickly removed it.

 

I'm definitely not going cheap buying another mag extension.

To be more specific...the threaded knuckle never unthreaded. Only the tube backed out of the knuckle.

bummer, sorry to see it fail like that. I would contact them and only ask for my $$$ back. No exchanges.

 

Then slap that $$$ on a Nordic components peice and never look back.
