AtlantaMax Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I have an M4 with less than 300 Federal field loads through it. There is a pit just forward of the chamber at about the point where the piston attaches. This must be a defect and it certainly must be a safety concern. Other than the pitting it looks as new. Has anyone else had experience with this situation? Is this something I should speak directly to Benelli about? The gun is in new condition and the bore has been cleaned with a snake right after use. Thanks, Max Quote
shot Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Do you have a picture? Are you sure they are not the gas port holes? Quote
OrangeMarine Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 so whats the verdict? gas ports or chipping? Quote
AtlantaMax Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 ummmm, now I feel like a tard. But I sure am glad I asked you guys before walking into the dealer. It's the gas ports! The angle at which I was shining the light was causing a slight shadow so it looked more like an oblong pit than a round gas hole. Thanks so much. Now I can go back to loving my M4. Max Quote
