AtlantaMax
I have an M4 with less than 300 Federal field loads through it. There is a pit just forward of the chamber at about the point where the piston attaches. This must be a defect and it certainly must be a safety concern. Other than the pitting it looks as new. Has anyone else had experience with this situation? Is this something I should speak directly to Benelli about? The gun is in new condition and the bore has been cleaned with a snake right after use. Thanks, Max
shot
Do you have a picture? Are you sure they are not the gas port holes?
OrangeMarine
so whats the verdict? gas ports or chipping?
AtlantaMax
ummmm, now I feel like a tard. But I sure am glad I asked you guys before walking into the dealer. It's the gas ports! The angle at which I was shining the light was causing a slight shadow so it looked more like an oblong pit than a round gas hole. Thanks so much. Now I can go back to loving my M4.
