RWEIII Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) ...remove the camo? Is the stock "roughed up" prior to dipping? Will it look bad? Not real concerned but don't want it to go that way if it will look like it lost a fight with a sander or wire brush. Looking to buy a camo stock from a friend, his is camo but my SBEII is black. (been a while, glad to be back!) Edited March 13, 2012 by RWEIII to add info Quote
tucker301 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 The stock is primed and then dipped. You can remove the finish with Acetone, but bead blasting would be a better approach. You'll want to be careful with the acetone. Work outdoors using gloves and skin protection. You'll want to neutralize the acetone with water as soon as you have the film removed. Otherwise, it could damage plastics. Quote
RWEIII Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Thanks tucker. So acetone will remove the hydrograph film, what about the primer? Edited March 13, 2012 by RWEIII Spelling corrected, fat thumbs... Quote
