Camo stock question, can I...

...remove the camo? Is the stock "roughed up" prior to dipping? Will it look bad?

Not real concerned but don't want it to go that way if it will look like it lost a fight with a sander or wire brush. Looking to buy a camo stock from a friend, his is camo but my SBEII is black.

(been a while, glad to be back!)

The stock is primed and then dipped. You can remove the finish with Acetone, but bead blasting would be a better approach.

You'll want to be careful with the acetone. Work outdoors using gloves and skin protection. You'll want to neutralize the acetone with water as soon as you have the film removed. Otherwise, it could damage plastics.
