I have the 6-shell carrier on mine, and with the shells in place, it's almost touching my thumb during pump. So with 2 more, it will hit your thumb or at least will alter your grip in an uncomfortable way. Personally, if I need to carry more than 6, I'll just add another shell carrier on the butt stock.
