  1. You accessorized you sg with side saddle shell carrier, mag extension, flashlight, red dot sight and whatever else but haven't fired the thing. You got the order backward. :-) Just take it to the range and fire the heck out of that thing. Everything else can wait.
  2. Yep. Just cycle the action to empty it. I suggest you buy some snap caps or dummy round to play around some more. Good for tactical speed loading practices as well
  3. Dude, you have never loaded up your shotgun huh? That plug keeps you from having more than 2 rounds in the receiver. It's there due to some bird hunting regulations. If you remove that, now you can load additional 2 rounds in there. Now you have a 4+1. It's also explained in your manual.
  4. Are you talking about the spring retainer that came with your Supernova? That is just there to prevent the spring from popping out on you when you removed the cap. Now that you're adding an extension, that has to go so the longer spring and additional shells can go in there. That retainer is now replaced by the new cap piece in your extension kit. Here's another picture. You reuse your follower. I don't think you'll need to cut the spring with the Benelli kit, but just load it up and test it out. Too long of a spring will cause it to jam because of too much spring force, so you'll have to trim it down little by little. Hopefully Benelli already figured all that out with their kits.
  5. Mine sits flush with the receiver. I counted 16 "teeth" on your rail, mine has 15. They might have sent you a wrong one.
  6. I got my Nordic extension from these guys: http://www.cactustactical.com/osc/nordic-components-benelli-nova-beretta-magazine-extensions-p-1224.html#.UNQSTXfAF8E Looks like they still have them in stock.
  7. I looked at it again, and it does look like the clamp is out of specs or they sent me the wrong clamp. The barrel isn't centered in the rounded portion of the clamp.
  8. I added a Nordic 2+ extension on my SuperNova and also a Nordic barrel clamp for flashlight attachment. After tightening all the screws, the barrel and the extension tube are pulled toward each other a little and causing them to deflect slightly. I didn't think much of this, but when I went out to shoot today, all my shots are low. I adjusted the rear ghost sight all the way, but still not enough to bring the shots up. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
  9. The SuperNova will take both stocks. Just FYI, it is easier to field strip the ComforTech vession than the pistol grip version. You cannot field strip the pistol grip version without having a 13mm socket around to loosen the stock. No tools required for field stripping the ComforTech version though. For your situation, you can get the Comfortech version, then buy the Mesa Tactical Urbino pistol grip (~$170). I personally prefer the Mesa Urbino pistol grip over the Benelli's one for its recoil absorption and 2" shorter length of pull. If she likes the recoil on the pistol grip, then you won't have to deal with swapping stocks anymore and can actually put the ComforTech up for sale. It's a big investment if you buy everything new, so look on the used market also where you can save quite a bit.
  10. The Limbsaver pad is much softer than the stock Benelli pad on the pistol grip. I changed the Benelli pistol grip to the Mesa Urbino pistol grip that has the Limbsaver pad and the recoil absorption is much more noticeable. I changed to the Mesa's one to get the shorter length of pull, and the Limbsaver pad is a bonus. I don't know if Limbsaver makes one specifically for our Benelli SNT, but they do make generic ones that you can buy and shave off to fit with a grinder.
  11. If that's the actual picture of the carrier, then I'm gonna say yes. I have the 6-shell carrier on mine, and with the shells in place, it's almost touching my thumb during pump. So with 2 more, it will hit your thumb or at least will alter your grip in an uncomfortable way. Personally, if I need to carry more than 6, I'll just add another shell carrier on the butt stock.
  12. Did you open it up and remove the limiter and check the spring? With a round in the mag, you can try to press on the round stopper thingy from the bottom to see if it pushes the round out. If it does, then you can rule out the spring or follower and move on other areas.
  13. Will this be a straight up trade or additional cash involved?
  14. Is there a specific model of the NC follower for the Supernova? The red one on NC website says it doesn't work on the Nova or Supernova. I notice there's a gold and a black version of the follower as well. Anyone has a NC follower on their Supernova and can you please give me a link to where you got yours? Any issue with the follower? I'm trying to get one to go with my NC +2 mag extension.
  15. So, just for the heck of it, I wrote to BATF, and after about 4 weeks, I got my letter from BATF on this matter: "Dear Mr. XXXXX: This is in response to your letter to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). You are requesting a clarification on the regulations in 27 CFR 478.39. In your letter, you explained that you purchased a Benelli Supernova Tactical 12 gauge shotgun with a standard Benelli pistol grip stock from a licensed manufacturer. You want to replace it with a non-collapsible pistol grip stock manufactured in the United States by Mesa Tactical. You want to know if by replacing the stock on the shotgun you will be in compliance with the regulations in 27 CFR 478.39. The regulations in 27 CFR 478.39 pertain to assemble of a semiautomatic rifle or shotgun using more than 10 certain imported parts. The activity in which you described above would not fall under the provisions of the regulation since you stated the replacement part is domestically manufactured. Please be aware that there may be State laws that pertain to your proposed activity. You need to contact your State's Attorney General Office to inquire about the laws and possible restrictions in your State concerning firearms. A list of their offices is available online at www.naag.org. We trust the foregoing has been responsive to your inquiry. Should you have additional questions, please contact your local ATF office. A listing of ATF office phone numbers can be found at: http:///www.atf.gov/field. Sincerely, Nicholas E. O'Leary Chief, Firearms Industry Programs Branch" Am I understanding this right? From the 3rd paragraph of the response, there's no need for the total part count, as long as the replacement part is domestically made, it's a legal swap? So I can swap in an extension from a US manufacturer and not have to worry about getting more parts to comply? Sounds like the regulations only pertain to those assembling a shotgun from the ground up.
