tpeter
love my Nova pump! I've been using my modified choke for deer hunting. A mossburg using friend is using a full choke and said that he gets better accuracy with it. Made me wonder if I should put my full choke to shoot slugs. I'm shooting Federal Power-Shok 2 3/4 slugs (el-cheapo's). Any Nova users have experience or wisdom on this? Don't have time with the short season to do patterning. Thanks. 8 Shot M1 Super 90
My local benelli dealer (who also happens to be my stepbrother) advises againsts the use of a full choke with slugs. For fear that the constriction of benelli's full choke will not be forgiving enough and might (probably will) bulge the barrel. Stick with the modified, dont go anytighter
threeshot
tpeter, According to Benelli's FAQ website, you should use Cylinder. http://www.benelliusa.com/customer-service/index.tpl Q: What choke should I use for slugs? A: A Cylinder choke is recommended for shooting rifled slugs in a smooth bore barrel. Sabot slugs should be shot through our fully-rifled slug barrels.
