Ethos Cordoba reversing the safety

I shoot left handed and just purchased a 12gauge ethos cordoba. The sales guy said there is no issue shooting the gun right or left handed. Well my fingers 2nd knuckle rest right on the safety and has engaged the safety countless times. 
I can’t seem to find a whole lot of tech info about these guns especially anything newer. 
anyone have experience or know if this can be done?

The Ethos chassis guns can be changed from right handed safety to Left Hand.  Many who try doing this will crush the safety plunger or the retaining spring upon reinstallation.
