QPM Posted August 22, 2023 Share Posted August 22, 2023 Hi all. My Rem 700 is extremely quiet as the bolt cycles, and is a 2 lug design. I recently had a Franchi Momentum Elite (3 lug bolt with raceway) and now I have the Lupo (similar bolt catch design) and both of those actions are a little noisy and you can feel the bolt catch running the raceway a wee bit. Do 3 lug designs need to have a raceway? Will this noise reduce over time as the action breaks in? Is there an after market bolt catch release button that will engage the raceway less, or is there any way to eliminate/diminish this noise. It's not the end of the world, but it bugs me a little and I think prevents the action from being as smooth as it could be. Thank you!
