Benelli Lupo: ejected brass striking receiver

Hi all. I was shooting a new Benelli Lupo and noticed some marks on the receiver. I spoke with Benelli and was told it looked like surface rust; I cleaned it using the prescribed method and oiled it. Back to the range a few weeks later and the marks returned! I realized it is probably the spent casing flipping 180 degrees on ejection and the case is smacking the receiver. Should it be doing this from the factory? I think I can tune it to stop, but wondered if this is expected behavior or if I just got an overly aggressive plunger spring and am not sure how I feel about having to tune a higher end gun the day that I get it...

Thanks!
