M4 Gen 2 start.

I finally picked up my new M4 model 11703. 
It has IT23 on the receiver. 
Is it a Gen 2?

The handguard seems Gen1.
IT23 means manufactured in 2023.

There is no Gen 2 of the M4 as far as I am aware.  There is a different M4 model (T Pro) with a different handguard, charge handle and larger bolt release button.  But there is nothing mechanically different, just aesthetic changes.
