  1. No mods needed other than our heat shield components, and Rx receiver rail.
  2. I'll be releasing our initial mil spec picatinny and RMR mounts this week along with our heatshield. Aim points will be coming in 2025. So if you are at all interested in using our heatshield, you need an RX optic mount, just something to consider.
  3. I can tell you right now it has nothing to do with maintenance. I've done literally zero maintenance in about 2500 shells other than oiling the rails. Mine works fine...
  4. I am packing them as we speak. Should be up late next week hopefully.
  5. Ya, I mean it's a personal thing, but I've never changed my chokes don't plan on it, never had any issues with any load, slugs, buck, whatever. But if the choice is between an absurd $900 price tag for a C stock, or an M1014 for $1850, I feel like it's not that hard of a decision.
  6. There is no Gen 2 of the M4 as far as I am aware. There is a different M4 model (T Pro) with a different handguard, charge handle and larger bolt release button. But there is nothing mechanically different, just aesthetic changes.
  7. They are on the machine right now. But is looking like late Oct/nov before they are ready to ship out. no update for entry. Next in line will be the 1301 tactical / A300 UP.
  8. No idea. It needs to be similar dimensions to the OEM, I designed it only around the OEM polymer.
  9. ya the only difference is ours has a 1913 mil spec design (full picatinny slots, no cutout down the middle), and it has a boss hole to accept the heat shield, and I feel the front is a lot more smoothed out compared to OEM, creating less snag potential. It is the same height as the OEM, so in theory, any optics moved from OEM over to the Rx Arms picatinny should be pretty close to zero requiring a small adjustment probably.
  10. It should be mentioned, and I will include this on the product page.. the heat shield does have minor amounts of play where the boss meets the optic rail, I am talking thousands of an inch, which are necessary for the tolerances of machining. After 2000-3000 shell on my receiver, it does show a small wear mark due to the heat shield rubbing against the receiver. This mark can probably be covered up using some Birchwood Casey aluminum black if one decides to get rid of the heat shield down the line, but I haven't tried to blacken the shiny spot. There can be ways to eliminate the play, such as a ranger band going around the heat shield and the mid barrel guide ring for example, or a ranger band around the heat shield and the forearm, or anything that will snug the heat shield down toward the hand guard. For me, and I realize I am not like everyone, a little mark on the receiver isn't a big deal, but I did want to be up front about this. Here is a picture showing what one can expect perhaps after 1000-3000 shells (i'm not sure when the rub spot presented itself). It is obviously not visible when the heat shield is installed.
  11. I think our heat shield can handle all that. It is 1/8" thick. However for optics mounted to the heat shield, there is a bit of play near the muzzle on the bracket, which was needed to ensure compatibility with older shotguns. It can be reduced some with layers of helicopter tape. Considering it is a shotgun, I am not sure how much 5 thou play would effect accuracy out to 50 yards. I would be curious to see how'd it stacks up with all this gear on it. Unforunately the SBS version is not in the works yet.
  12. 1. I think it would be beneficial to get a small video from you, locking your stock into position clearly showing what you are doing so we can see exactly what is going on, with a detailed shot of the buffer tube where your buttstock is. 2. Are you certain you are not in the "off" slot? Meaning, you think you are locked into a position but in fact you are half way on the off slot, and when you fire the stock jolts off the slot and back onto the flats and collapses? 3. Does the stock rotate to the right when it collapses or does it remain in the correctly timed position? 4. Are you using the legacy stock or the new supernova stock? IMO the rate of fire has nothing to do with this issue.
  13. The 590 tigger housing has a different design. It is susceptible to breaking where the housing meets the receiver with two locking tabs. It is a poor design in this regard. This is why the aluminum trigger housing is better on the 590A1 imo.
  14. It is more now, I am measuring 0.27" more room for the spring vs OEM cap. This is due to the extra width added by the bracket and a redesign of the mag cap.
  15. I suspect not, I don't have one to test but I think it would be in the way.
  16. thanks! I am trying my best to get the pricing down on all the components as best I can. I still might be able to lower the Heat Shield cost, and/or the receiver optic mounts. But I won't know for sure until my production runs have completed. As it stands now, our optic mounts are very competitively priced compared to others, I understand it sucks for those of you who have already bought other optic mounts, etc, but I can only go so low. Unfortunately I won't be offering any package pricing, it will be what it is.
  17. These heatshield components are CNC machined in Canada. I finished the installation video today, so you can see how it all works. https://youtu.be/ZUgIvyyq9Zs?si=Ug1nYP9NzDNNmmLo
  18. ya they have a formidble presence. But I am not so convinced about this, I think a lot of guys would leave OEM handguards on and put an MLOK heatshield on the gun if they had the choice. Especially with the new Mod 2 handguard, and A300UP handguard that comes standard. but its still in R&D phase right now so no rush on it.
  19. I won't rule it out, but it will be difficult for me to go that route as I really do not think the market for SBS is even a fraction of the standard 18". From here, I will probably focus on the 1301 and A300UP variant, which I am already prototying. any M4 SBS variant is probably a year or two away if I do it, being completely honest.
  20. An update for you all. After a full year tweaking the initial design, and almost 2 years since starting this concept, I am finally happy with the end result! I came up with a magazine cap that has 3 detents in it, which locks into the front heatshield bracket divots. It has amazing retention, even when loose it has great retention ability (I tested it loose and it didn't move due to the spring force of the dents locked into the divots). The new packaged product will include the 6061-T6 Heatshield, Titanium 6AL-4V mag cap with 3 spring detent plungers in it, and the steel bracket to interface with the mag cap. I am happy to say, production is underway, and the fall 2024 is when these will be mailing out. I'll be recording an installation video soon, it is very easy and straightforward. Price is tentatively set around the $299 mark for all the components. The RMR rail is looking like $78, and the Picatinny is $48. These are all subject to change before I launch these on the site.
