I just recently got my Benelli m4 5 round magazine tube replaced with the 7 round tube at a gunsmith. After loading it is noticed something was wrong.

The loading ramp is not loading in the next shell. I pressed the lift button as usual but the shell does not load into the chamber. I have to physically push in the loading ramp with my finger to get the shell to load into the chamber.

Sometimes the shell is particularly inside of the magazine tube as well.

When I cycle the weapon empty the feed ramp goes up as it's meant to when the bolt goes forward.

I have not attempted firing the weapon yet. The shell length I am using for this is 2 3/4, wwhich I've never had an issue with the loading ramp before.

Check to make sure the new 7 round magazine tube is fully screwed into the receiver and there is no gap left at the juncture of the mag tube and the receiver that can allow a shell rim to hang in.

When installing the 7 round tube did your gunsmith also install a longer magazine tube spring?

With the chamber empty and bolt closed load one shell only into the magazine tube. Press the shell release tab beside the trigger. Does that shell fully exit the magazine into the receiver, or is the shell still partially in the magazine tube?

Yes the gunsmith installed an FFT spring. Which i thought might have been the problem, so I replaced it with the original factory spring and it still has the same issue.

I tried what you suggested in the later portion of your reply and it's 50/50 if the shell is partially in the magazine or just inert in the lift until I have to push it up with my finger.

I haven't checked if the magazine is screwed in all the way yet. I'll have to do that.

I am having a similar issue, though the magazine tube is factory-installed. To answer the above troubleshooting question, the shell loads into the chamber fine from the magazine when I press the shell release tab. This is also true when  the magazine full, also. However, the problem occurs because I can't just cycle rounds into the chamber with manual operation of the bolt only. I have to click the release tab each time. I haven't fired it yet. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.

That is normal. A shell only exits the magazine tube when you active the release tab OR the hammer falls (the falling hammer actives the release tab, that is the design of the action)

Thanks! Everything is smooth, then, and I'm good to go. Thanks for your time with this!
