SBEII-choke and barrel configuration

Just bought an SBEII with a 28" barrel primarily for duck hunting. I patterened it at 35 yards with 3" #3 shot with a improved/modified choke and the patterned seemed very tight with probably 95% inside a 20" circle. My question is does the length of the barrel significantly contribute to the pattern size in steel shot? In other words, all other things being equal, would a 26" barrel increase the shot pattern in this same situation?

A 26" or even a 24" would pattern nearly identically.

That is good to know. I guess that applies to all makes of shotguns. I was concerned that it was a little too tight. I can always drop back to an IC to open it a bit. Thanks
