TheRo0sTer Posted September 18, 2006 Share Posted September 18, 2006 A buddy and I both shoot the Nova Pump 12g and were wondering about the different chokes. I have the Modified choke in and I am shooting Federal Upland Load 3 1/4 #5s. What we were wondering is what is the best choice if the birds are getting up say 20-30yrds? From what he's told me the Improved Cylinder makes for a tighter pattern for longer distance. The modified is not as tight for about the same difference. Can anyone clarify this for me? Maybe my averages Saturday morning and this evening would have been better with the Improved Cylinder. Now would the wider patter have less stopping power?
