M1 Firing Pin Retaining Pin O Ring

Hello,

 

My M1 countinually chews up the rubber O ring around the firing pin retaining pin. Does anyone else have the same experience?

Is the damage occuring with normal use, or does it get damaged when you're taking the pin out?

do you seat the O ring all the way flush? It is tough access against the bolt. I use a plastic feeler gauge to make sure it is all tucked in. Then I put a little MD XF-7 to keep it from binding.

The O ring is roughed up during normal use. I'm certain it is correctly seated. What is MD XF-7?

just a lubracant, but my favorite. you can find it at brownells, made by Maddog labs.
