Cammo finish on barrel...paint or vinyl coat?

Hi:

I´m just wondering if the finish on the cammo models is painted, or a kind of vinyl coat on it.

As mine has many scratches and needs a refinish...how can I refinish it?

Read this for a description of how the finishes are applied.

 

You can touch it up by hand with hobby paints, or you can just ignore it. That's what most do.

 

The gun is a tool, and tools get bumps and bruises.

If it's flaking and peeling, that's a different story.

 

If it's really bad, you can have it re-dipped.
