NewSBEIIOwner
I just purchased a new SBE II Black Synthetic and was very disappointed by the quality of the barrel finish. It seems like a very thin coating, and it even has a few light scratches that show bare steel. I watched the factory seal on the box opened, so I'm sure the gun was not handled before me....is this a bad apple or are they all like this. Drundel
All like that. My SBE rusted in front of me on its first hunt in the salt marsh last year, even having a coat of corrosion-x on it before the hunt. My Nova, circa '99 is much better. I had my SBE dipped and bought my SBEII camo just for that reason.
mudhen
Yep, it's a bit on the economy side. I coat with Breakfree CLP and wipe it down. For some reason, it seems to keep the finish black and pretty decent looking. Maybe the CLP just sticks well? mudhen - CA
