nova safety removal

I have an safety button kit, jumbo head, stock number 310-000-355 on order from Brownells. I'm sure it will have instructions, but I was wondering if anyone out there has replaced their safety and have any tips or warnings.

Any comments would be apprieciated.

If you are apprehensive on replacing just take to a smith? even if you do not wear benelli underwear!

I'm not apprehensive, looking forward to this little tinkering job. Just thought some would like add their knowledge. Which is always welcomed.

The Nova's safety is a bit tricky.

If I recall correctly the safety employs a detent and spring that are loaded beneath the crossbolt, like the R1.

 

Hopefully Brownells' kit will explain a clever way of depressing the detent and removing the crossbolt.

 

When I did the one I had (my first Benelli), I cursed some engineers serverly.

 

It can be done by a comptetent home smith, but it's no picnic.

Tucker301, you correct about the detent and spring being under the plunger. Hoping myself for a simple how-to, from Brownells. Just in looking, it doesn't seem possible.
