Tealh
My sons M1-field super 90 barrel ring weld failed and broke off. This is where it slides over the magazine tube. Of course it 's a came pattern gun. I heard this can be silver soldered back on but will damage the camo pattern in the process. Does anyone know anything about this or anything about the correct way to fuse this back together? He wants to use his gun for ducks a.s.a.p. Tealh
The gun is 5 yrs old. I noticed the newer ones have a longer flange where it attaches to the barrel at the weld point. This must have been a problem they were aware of although it probably rarely occurs. The steel duck loads have very high pressure which is probably the cause but it still shouldn't happen. I thinks I can fix this by applying flux and solder ahead of time then clamping in position , then heat the flange.. Thanks for your input Jim
slsail
I would call CS first if they can help you with that problem they may refuse if you try to do it yourself first
