mlind
Hello all. I just purchased a M4 Super 90 with the pistol grip fixed stock. I'm very pleased with the product. However, the more I handle it, the more I want a shorter stock. I'm about 5'6" and the length of pull of the stock is a little exessive for my stature. Are there shorter stocks for the M4? I am aware there is a telescoping stock and I am not willing to spend the arm and leg necessary to get one. Is the field stock length of pull shorter? Is anyone aware of a gunsmith that can shorten the current stock? I don't think this issue is a show stopper, but any info you folks can bring to light will be greatly appreciated. mlind
Well, I went to a gun show yesterday and met a guy who makes, repairs, and customizes stocks. Funny how that worked out. Anyway, he said he could take the 1-1.5" off the composite stock and then shape and insert a block of wood to attach the recoil pad. He said he may also have to remove material from the recoil pad as well. He will do this in about two hours for a price of about $70. It's not as tacticool as the telescoping stock, but should help the LOP issue I am having and perhaps help someone else in a similar situation .
