  1. Yes, I've been shooting TSS(Tungsten Super Shot) for going on three years now, friend of mine Hal is the pioneer of developing the TSS loads for turkey hunting, he's been loading it for me the last two seasons, now I'm loading my own. I've shot 9 gobblers and 1 coyote with the TSS loads in the last two years. I've been shooting 3" 2oz loads of a duplex of 9x8's, 1oz each. There's about 620 pellets in this load. TSS is the densest load available @ 18g/cc. This makes it equal to lead pellets 5-6 times it's size in penetration. #9 TSS is equal to #4 lead, #8's are equal to #2 lead. I've shot just about all turkey loads on the market including Nitros, nothing compares to this stuff in pattern density and long range killing power!

How would that handload shoot out of a .660 Rhino? I don't reload anymore wish I did cause I would like to have bout 10 of those for this coming spring. You mentioned about being the best pattern density than even nitros of course it would your shooting over 200 more pellets than a 3" 2 oz Nitro load. I can tell that those are awesome shells but till someone markets them and gets a good price on them they will be just for reloaders and that sucks.

  2. I can pop a Tom at 50+ yards with my stock Nova. I thought the new SBE II was pretty cool til I saw the price tag.

2729.00 MSRP. The MSRP for a camo SBEII is 1759.00

Thats almost 1000.00 bucks more!! And what do you get?

Steadygrip- Once a year there is a rebate for these= free

    barrel porting- Briley says 95.00 bucks+shipping= 120.00

extended turkey choke- most high priced choke= 100.00

    burris fastfire- =200.00

= 320.00 and thats pushin it. Even if you add in the steadygrip. 150.00 bucks. Still half what there selling it for.

    I'll pass.

The steadygrip stock comes with it also free as a extra. WOW kinda makes me wanna by it now. Oh wait not a chance.

  3. Well buddy when you get that gun please shoot it a few times and post pics so us po folfs can see what we all are missing in ausch a high dollar set up. Then when it comes turkey season us po folks will post pics of what our cheaper set ups can do and you wanna bet our set ups will kill atleast the same or more than a fancy over priced set up from Benelli.

One thing you forgot to mention is that they are really only testing Federal FC ammo with it. To me that just is not good enough. Guess each his own but a 1000 dollars more than the stock product is to much for 400 dollars worth of work. I guess if people are lazy and don't want to do the work in pattern a gun or finding the right shell choke combo this might be the thing to do. Knda makes it easy I guess but it is satisfying doing all the leg work on your own.

  4. For 2700 bucks it better be able to call turkeys for me and wake me when a turkey comes in and I have fallen asleep. I am sure it is a jam up set up but sorry it does not shoot any better than mine gun and I am sure than most of yours if you done your home work. To much money for any shotgun.

Hey wingshooter since you are obviously pressing how great of a deal it is have you bought one yet? If not why not as you said it is a great deal

  5. Tyson I shoot one shell and those are Nitros. Patterned my gun 5 years ago and only shoot it at turkeys. No need to throw 10 bucks a shell out the window when you know what your gun and pattern does. But I will tell you at 20 yards it's baseball size with a few flyers.

This is what happens when they come to close like 20 yards

  6. It depends on how many people are hunting the state land that I am hunting. If I hear a bird on roost I will usually try to get withen 100 yards or so and sit up. I will keep moving around aslong as I am hearing birds gobbling but later in the morning I tend to stay put more.

If it is later in the morning I usually find me a shady spot and sit and just call every 20 minutes or so. Moving 100 yards or so every couple hours. It works great on these WMAs where I hunt as they usually slip in silent though.

  7. Flhawghuntr, have you ever had any problems with build-up and crud in your chamber after shooting your Nitro's?

Never now I'm not saying that they are the cleaness shooting loads I have ever shot either. I try to clean my gun after each shot at night when out of state hunting just so I can get the maximum pattern density. But never in the chamber the barrel and choke gets dirty. The choke gets more of the plastic wad residue more then anything and the barrel gets the powder residue.

  8. I been using the NItros with the Rhino choke for 5 years now and it slaps messes up turkeys. They are not cheap but when you spend a grand on a turkey gun what is a few more bucks for the best shells made. It seems that quite a few people now are going with the Straight 7s in a Nitro load but I will continue to stick with the Tri load cause at 40 yards I am getting 325+ in a 10 in circle. The say the Pure Gold choke works awesome but cannot confirm that as all I use is the Rhino choke for turkey huntin.

  9. This is my first posting on this forum so if I'm repeating a previous conversation, I apologize. My question has to due with my M4 and possibly taking it out on a turkey hunt. Any sugestion on a good, solid choke for it? We typically are taking shots 20-45 yards out. For years I've used my 835 Ulti-Mag but I'm considering using the M4 in the Fall. Any suggestions?

No two guns will shoot a like but if you get a few chokes and a few different loads you will be able to find one that suits your needs. YOu can also look up here what you can expect using Rhino choke and Nitro shells http://www.nitrocompany.com/pattern.htm

  10. I tried the nitro turkey shells and they pattern great. But if you look close so much of the shot looks like no. 7 shot. This might be fine on close turkeys but i think 5 shot would be better on 50+yard birds. Has anybody else noticed this?thanks bob

YOur right but you have to remember your not shooting copper plated shells you are shooting 7 hevi shot which hits as hard as no 5 copper plated shot at 40 yards. The 7s have no problem killing at 50 yards. I shot 2 at 55 this year 1 at 49 and 1 at 63 all got knocked down for the count. 4x5x7 Nitro loads are the real deal.

  11. I don't know if there is another choke out there that will pattern at 50 yards.

Rhino choke or Jellyhead with the right Nitro load patterns quite well at 50 yards.

If your only getting a 30 yard pattern with your set up you might want to try a new choke shell combo as it is nice to get them always withen 30 yards that is not always reality. With new chokes and loads coming yearly 30 yards is nothing now.

  12. I tried one of the Comp-N-Choke XX Full tubes on my SBE LH last season - it was OK ...

But I settled on a Rhino .660 tube & the Nitro H51013A loads - the Nitro loads & Rhino tube are a great combo for my SBE.

I use Nitro & Rhino on my SBE II also ... hth

I use the Rhino H-378 combo which is deadly but lots of people will not pay that kind of money for shells

  13. looking to buy a turkey choke for my benelli what do you guys recommend or use ?

    thanks

Their are quite a few companies that make fine chokes for those two guns. Rhino, Primos (Jellyhead, Tightwad) Undertaker, Compnchoke are just a few that makes good chokes. You will need to get a choke then fine the right shell combo for that gun.

  14. FLH, Do you notice people turning and walking away from you while you are in mid-sentence? Just curious.

Do I really care? Do I? You are the one who got ripped off not me. Till you know me don't jump to conclusions till someone pays my bills for me I could care less what others do or think.

    Mud fine bird their congrats!

  15. THose Kaiser calls look nice. And if he starts selling a bunch of them guess what he will have to mass produce like the rest of the guys. These calls of top sellers still have a lot of hands on unlike the plastic machine produced calls. May try one Kasiers calls myself but I have yet to run any I like better than woodhavens

Bart buddy I see you haven't a clue and WoodHaven is nothing but CnC mass produced calls. Andy Kaiser makes a awesome call an like Tooky said some don't get it. doesn't matter how many calls you make in a year if you make them on a CnC machine they are not custom. Look up what the word means if you still don't get it. Oh I bt you think Primos makes a custom call too. You like woodhavens so much please stay with them and don't get a custom call makes killin them in front of you that much easier for everyone else.

Also for the price that they charge you think Mike could throw in a hand turned striker instead of a two piece striker. Hel* it wouln't be hard to have them turn strikers on it too since they turn diamondwood one piece strikers guess they have enough suckers willing to pay it where they feel they can give a piece of crap striker with their over priced calls

  16. Does anyone know why the big difference in pellet count for test pattering between the SBE II and the SuperNova - On the Nitro website the SBE II shows 280-320 whereas the SN only shows 230-270 - I have the SN and was hoping some modification would get me in to the higher pellet count - i am currently in the high 230s with just the Rhino .660 choke with not other modifications

That is just a estimate as each gun shoots it's own way. It's a guidline but it is notset in stone. My 3" H378 shoot around 320 to 350 @ 10" @ 40yards way over estimates. Some guns just shoot better than others.

If your getting what they say for your gun what are you worried about that is pretty good. What choke are you shooting with it.
