  1. Best patterns I got with my Nova is with a Primos Jellyhead choke tube with Winchester High Velocity (HV) #6's.....very...very deadly combination. Shot some Hevi-Shot......and just wasn't that impressed with the patterns.
  2. Not while turkey hunting...but I had one attack my doe decoy while bowhunting one time.....it was the craziest thing I have ever seen while hunting.....and yes...I've also heard of it happening to turkey decoys....in fact, a company that produces turkey decoys shows a coyote attacking one of their "life like" decoys in a commercial I see every once in awhile on the Outdoor Channel.
  3. SBE+M.A.D. Max Turkey Choke+Winchester HV 6's, 5's, & 4's = Dead turkeys.....believe me....its unbelievable. I also shoot a Nova...with a Primos Jellyhead Choke tube with Winchester HV 6's......whoa....shot my bird this year at 15 yards...and he hit the ground DEAD.....just about blew his head off.......it was of of the most spectacular things I have seen....Primos wasn't lying when they named their choke "Jellyhead".
  4. Yes...the recoil reducers do work...most noticeably while shooting 2 3/4" rounds...... Its not THAT noticeable while shooting a 3 1/2" shell.....those babies are gonna kick some serious recoil with or without the reducer..... As far as the weight.....it does help balance the gun out a bit....adding 2lbs...Negative..but it does make it a little heavier......but not by much. My father has found a nice combo for his SBE.....he has the recoil reducer plus Sims Vibrations Butt-stock pad. web page He said this knocks down the serious recoil while shooting 3 1/2" shells. Another note......I also have a recoil reducer in my Nova.....and my brother has the same gun.....but he doesn't have the recoil reducer....we tested them out and my gun is noticeably heavier.....but it definitely doesn't kick as much.....so you'll just have to decide what works best for you. As mentioned above.... 3.5" shells are gonna hurt either way.....but with the reducer and that sims vibration buttstock pad, you'll notice a significant dropoff in pain.
  5. Here a nice tom (8.5" beard) bagged with my Nova.....XXX Full Comp-N-Choke.....combined with Winchester's HV, 3 1/2" 6 shot.....knocked this guy down at 50 yards.
  6. Your local dealer should be able to order one for ya if they don't have any in stock. I'm lucky, I live 10 mins awary from the new Cabelas in Kansas City...and they have a crapload of 'em on display. for me, for you.
  7. Hey......I have to shoot high brass light loads so the gun will eject the shells.....low brass loads don't eject so well....the low brass loads that do eject are "hot" reloads......so go figure.
  8. Have any of you heard or seen anything about whether or not to shoot Hevi-Shot loads through your Benelli? Has anybody here shot any Hevi-Shot through their gun?? Does it do any barrel damage?? If your not familiar with Hevi-Shot....its heavier than lead....well here, check it out: http://www.remington.com/whatsnew/hevishot/hevishot.htm Please let me know....(by the way...I'm shooting a Nova.....with XXX Full Comp-N-Choke...which they already don't recommend shooting Hevi-Shot with their choke tubes.....but I need to know if it will mess up the barrel in my Nova before I buy a new choke...)
  9. I agree...I shoot the XXX Full Comp-N-Choke for turkeys......very, very nice.....
