hey ibafoo, you can get a steady grip stock from benelli by ordering one from your local dealer. Be sure to be specific about the sbe 1 when ordering. I got one from benelli but it took a long time (about 10 months) but it fit my sbe 1 perfectly. good luck!

hey huntdrk, congratulations on your purchase! You can close your bolt fairly quietly by hand but make sure the bolt does its little twist right before the breech is closed- which locks the breech closed. If the bolt is not completely closed and locked, the gun won't fire. If you watch closely, you'll see this little twist as the breech is closed. It's really no big deal to do once you get used to doing it. Play with it a while and you'll see how easy this is to do and to make sure the bolt has rotated and locked, it just takes a little getting used to -good luck!

need help. I can't find anything about how to take down the magazine tube. The instruction manual only shows the exploded view of the tube and nothing about how to disassemble the magazine tube, removal of retaining spring seal,etc. The top of the tube has a smooth round metal peice with 2 small holes. I don't know how to remove it without possibly damaging it to get to the underlying magazine plug and spring in order to clean the magazine tube and parts. Is there a special tool or something to release this? All input is appreciated.

nor cal, I think that you would have no problem with the sbe 2. All the problems previously discussed are "window dressing" and the main functions of the gun are and will work well. Benelli customer service is excellent if you have any problems and they return repaired parts promptly. My new m2 safety was fixed within a week as was the safety on my brother's new sbe 2. Yes, there are small esoteric problems with these new guns but the bottom line is the guns are inherently reliable and durable and should serve you well. This is just my opinion and my 2 cents' worth-- good luck

hey hooked, The reason the forearm is tight and its removal is questionable is because it is new. The threaded portion of the magazine tube contacts the inner surface of the forearm and causes resistance. The solution is to carefully work the forearm up and down and side to side after removing the magazine end cap and receiver bolt lever and the forearm should come off of the magazine tube. The more times you break down the gun, the easier this becomes. Good luck !

Hey jmac, My advice is get the new m2! The advances in the m2 over the m1 are not cosmetic. The gel pads on the new stock and the crio-treated barrel are worth the extra cost. Compare the m1 with the m2 head to head and shot for shot- I think you will choose the m2! Good luck.

rufrturbo, I own a new left-handed m2- purchased 1 month ago- and have enjoyed it in the dove field. I use my improved cylinder choke for close- in shooting(20-30yds) and my modified or improved modified choke for surer kills at longer distances. good luck!

Catmonkey- I was in the market for a new Benelli with the new crio barrel and gel stock and and my order was taking longer than expected. Mack's store has long been known for their waterfowling merchandise but I found that they also have great prices on firearms as well. panman, Give Mack's a call- they may be able to ship the gun to you or , if your local gun dealer would cooperate, they could ship it to the local gun dealer and you could pick it up there. Even better, Plan a duck hunting trip to Stutgart, AR and visit Mack's store and get your new gun there! Good luck

panman, Don't settle for less than you want- you'll be sorry in the long run. I just purchased an m2 left handed last week from my local gun dealer but it had to be ordered. It took 4 weeks. So check out other dealers in your area and you will probably find someone who can get you one!

hey benelliboy-the m2 has the new crio-treated barrel and the new gel stock. the gel pad on the top of the stock feels great when shooting. the m2 costs a little bit more but, with all the new innovations, I believe the m2 is the better gun. As far as the question of camo or not- I have both camo and matte black- its more of a personal choice. Either will serve you well. Good luck!

I believe you have been offered a fair deal on an sbe 1. I have owned an sbe 1 for 3 years and am pleased with its performance. The ease in tear-down and cleaning is important. If you are not interested in using 3.5 inch shells, you might look into the m1 or m2. The sbe2 is probably an excellent gun so the choice between the two is more than likely personal.

benelliboy- It all depends on what you are going to do with the gun. If you plan on shooting 3 1/2 magnums- then the sbe is the choice. The m2 is a great gun but only shoots up to 3 in. shells. The Remington is a good gun ifyou keep it clean (every 2-3 boxes of shells) and keep a spare O ring is your wallet since they tend to fail out hunting and away from home. Benellis are simple to maintain, easy to break down, and most reliable autoloader available.
