I moved mine 90 degrees using c-ring pliers.

Has anyone fired these specialty rounds and are they worth the price?

I bought my M1014 Oct. 6th and it arrived Nov. 4th. Then I had to fill out the DROS ppwk to get the 10 day waiting period started. The dealer gave me the same response when I followed up with them. They don't understand why it takes so long. This is my first shotgun and I must say that it was worth waiting for!

I haven't found any heat shields made for the M1014. There's a nylon heat shield that I purchased from Bushmaster which is easier to modify than TacStar's shield which is metal. If you decide to go with Bushmaster, they only offer shields for Mossberg & Remington - I selected Mossberg.

I purchased a guard from Bushmaster. It's made out of nylon and had to do some fabricating to install it. Looks great. There's another one that's metal made by TacStar.
