  1. I got tired of waiting (1+years) for an M4 and purchased a Remington 11-87 Police. Why reward a company with my hard earned $ if they think so little of their customers that they can not even keep their product on the shelves? The Remington has nice Wilson ghost ring sights, a factory 7-round magazine (not a $100 add-on extension like Benelli, which may or may not be available) and has no ammunition issues like the M4. I did replace the stock with a pistol-grip SpeedFeed IV for about 60 bucks. Less than half the price of the M4, Remington quality, 3 day delivery to my dealer and made in the good ol' USA. What's not to like?

  4. I also found this on a USMC Judge Advocate site: WEAPON REVIEW OF JOINT SERVICE SHOTGUN SHELL We reviewed a request for a legal review of the Federal Cartridge 12-gauge, 3-inch, number 00 buckshot (AA60), for the joint service combat shotgun. We reviewed the supporting documentation and concluded that the intended use of the AA60 is consistent with our international legal obligations, including the law of war. Although the AA60 contains plastic particles, we confirmed telephonically and through the procurement of additional documentation, that there were no issues under Protocol I, of the UN Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. Protocol I prohibits “any weapon the primary effect of which is to injure by fragments which in the human body escape detection by X-rays.” The primary wounding effect of the AA60 is the lead buckshot, not the plastic pellets, which immediately dissipate into a confetti-like substance after the round has been fired. We forwarded the request to Navy JAG (Code 10), recommending approval. I also found another site that listed this item as manufactured by Federal. Now all I need is an M4 to shoot it in.
  5. Does anyone know what the standard issue ammo is for soldiers carrying the M4/M1014? I have seen lots of posts about alleged problems with the M4/M1014 and find them hard to believe, given the exhaustive testing that the military subjects new firearms to before they are adopted. It would be nice to know what the military feeds their shotguns. Perhaps there are lots of civilians abusing their M4s with improper ammo?
  6. Regarding the availability of M4 shotguns, I just received the following email from Benelli Customer Service: Currently all of the M-4's in production are going to the Military in Iraq. We are expecting our first US shipment for general consumers to begin within the next 90 days.
  7. stevenb - When did you purchase your 11703? I have been waiting for them to arrive in my local gun shops. Also, did it come with the magazine extension, and what is the total magazine capacity with the extension (not counting one in the chamber). Thanks.
  8. Does anyone know if M4 Model 11707s are coming into the US yet? When I talked to Benelli in November they said to expect them to begin arriving sometime this Spring.
  9. Greetings everyone, I am new to this forum. Can someone who has recently purchased an M4 Model 11707 tell me for sure, without speculating or guessing, exactly what stock comes on the gun? The web site shows 3 stock options - Pistol Grip, Standard and Collapsible, and says that the collapsible stock is available as an accessory. The "specification" pop-up window for the M4 lists only the 11707 model and says in the text that the stock is the "Pistol Grip", but the picture above the text shows the collapsible stock! What really comes with the gun? FYI, I spoke to Benelli Customer Service in November asking if they thought I would be able to find myself one for Christmas, and the woman who answered the phone told me possibly for Easter! She said the delay was due to the fact the after the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban, Benelli decided to import only the Law Enforcement Model, which she said is the 11707. Are these pieces coming into the country yet?
