  1. Full Bore, I never even thought of trying to adjust the stock. Right now she's trying to trade for a comfortech model, but next time we go to the range I'm going to have to watch her shoot to see what she's doing to cause the face slapping, because she just started having problems about a month ago,but every time we shoot together I get stuck running the traps and can't focus much attention on her shooting. My guess is that she might be lifting her head off the stock to watch the bird, she never really did much clay shooting until this year, so she has a few bad habits that need to be worked on. Right now I've been focusing what observation time I have on making sure she doesn't stop swinging the gun when she pulls the trigger; so I never payed any attention to how she mounts the gun. M2 Field, Benelli has an overstock of Steadygrip stocks, so for a limited time they are giving one away with the purchase of an M2 or SBE2 comfortech. 2. You need to have a special forend for the slug barrels. I believe the inside is opened up wider to acomodate the larger diameter of the slug barrel, but the slug barrel forend will work with the bird barrel, you'll just have a gap in between the barrel and the sides of the forearm. If it were me I would have the dealer install a bird barrel on the slug gun model and see how much of a gap there is with the slug forend/bird barrel and if it doesn't bother you then I'd buy the slug gun, then buy a separate bird barrel and save yourself from having to buy an $80 forend.
  3. thanks for the reply Full Bore, I figured when I couldn't find any for sale that they weren't avaliable separtly yet. The main reason my fiancee wants the comfortech is because the soft comb on top of the stock is easier on your face when shooting alot of rounds of clays.
  4. does anyone know where or if a person could get a black comfortech stock and forearm for a M2 12ga? My fiancee has an M2 wood and wants to change to a comfortech. I've looked on all the websites that I could think of and haven't seen any comfortech stocks that were avaliable, only the regular synthetic. Also, what would one expect to pay for a black stock/forearm? I saw a camo M2 forearm on numerich's website and they wanted $108 for it, but they didn't have any stocks.
  5. my fiancee has been running case after case of the Estate super sporting 1 1/8 shells through her righthanded M2 and has only had one misfire because of a faulty primer. I've had dealers tell me that the only guns they have seen more problems with left-handed guns than right-handed, I've also talked to a couple of guys with lefthanded guns that had some trouble with them.
  6. I heard some people say that benelli had some problems with the older slug barrels, but I don't remember what the problem was, but I think the newest barrels are right now.

    M2 20ga

I just saw an M2 20ga at the mankato,MN Scheels store. It looks just like a scaled down M2 12ga but it has the GripTight coating on the stock&forearm.

    M1 vs M2

the m2 has a cryogenically frozen barrel with longer choke tubes. the cryo process is said to help relieve the stress in the metal and make the barrel more uniform thus making it pattern better. Also, the m2 has a redesigned trigger guard that is made out of plastic, and the stock and forearm have a little different shape than the m1. If you compare the synthetic stocks on the two, the m2 has the comfortec stock with the gel pad, and the airtouch checkering(which really improves your grip). The m1 has just a plain synthetic stock. I own both models and the only real performance advantage I noticed with the m2 was that the comfortec stock cuts out some of the muzzle jump and it doesn't beat my shoulder and face up as bad after a long day at the clays range, and the dimple checkering on the m2 gives me a better grip on the stock even when the gun is wet. The only thing that I didn't like at first was the grip on the m2's stock, Benneli changed the contour of it a little and it was uncomfortable to my small hands ,but over time I got used to it, also I don't really like the plastic trigger guard on the m2 it seems cheap compared to the aluminum one on the m1.
  9. Brownells has them listed on their website, but after seeing the $89 price tag I didn't look to see what sizes they had.

    new m2

I just bought a new M2 and I noticed when I took it apart at home the entire fire control housing and safety is made out of plastic. Is that going to hold up in the long run or is it something that will wear out quickly? Also, is it normal for the fire control assembly to have a little side to side playwhen it is in the reciever? The trigger housings on the M1's I looked at fit really tight ,but they are made out of metal. I used to own an M1 years ago and hope that the M2 will be as durable and reliable of a gun as the M1 was.
