  1. My SuperSport is over two years old and after break-in of 200 rounds of thumpers (Rem STS sporting 1 1/8 oz at 1300 fps) (thank goodnes for the comfortek stock) it would cycle 1 oz at 1200 fps. For the past year I have been using 7/8 oz at 1250 fps and it works every time. I have approximately 5000 rounds through the gun, mostly at skeet and sporting, but some phesant and duck hunting too and I have had exactly 3 failures to load caused by a bad reload (belled mouth).
  2. The Verona line is manufactured in Italy by one of the several Rezini brothers. BC Outdoors is kaput, so is Eldorado Cartridge Co. I recently saw an ad for Savage Arms that looks very nuch like the Verona. Savage is calling it the Milano.
  3. Porting on the choke tube just makes for a dirty job of changing the choke tube. It cannot do a thing for muzzle jump because it is ported around the entire circumference of the tube. If it were ported only on the top of the tube when it is snug; it might help some with muzzle junp. As for recoil reduction if any it will be minimal.
  4. Just get a SuperSport, Sport II or a Cordoba. They only have 3 in. chambers but will cycle 1 oz. loads at 1200 fps with no problems. Mine will do the same for 7/8 oz. loads in the 12 ga. If you get a 3 1/2 in. chamber you may have problems with any 2 3/4 inch shells.
  5. Tell all the so called experts who say that 30 inches is too long for skeet to get a life. Lots of big name skeet shooters are using over/under's with 30 and 32 in. barrels. Same for semi-autos. I shoot everything with my supersport with it's 30 in. barrel. Works good in a duck blind too.
  6. A couple of years ago a friend and I were on a phesant hunt in South Dokata. He had his new SBE which has the matt finish. On the second day of the hunt it rained and our guns got thouroughly wet. I used WD-40 on the exterior of my gun, he just wiped off his with a dry towell. The next morning his looked like a solid mass of rust, mine had NO rust at all. Matt finished guns need more carefull cleaning than blued guns. I have seen the same results on a Rem. 870 Express.
  7. Hello Supersportshooter: As I was reading the replys to your problem it appears that some of the respondents do not know that the Comfottec stock on the SuperSport in made of a composite material and is not easily extended. Fortunately I am able to shoot mine (two years old)very well with the Monte Carlo style comb (additional $65 from your dealer. I found that in addition to being just a little short the stock could not be adjusted high enough for my shooting style, ergo the Monte Carlo insert. A friend is using the aluminum snap in fixture and a quarter inch spacer under a Kickease pad, it works for him. I have not seen the Brownells extension, so I don't know how it works. The Benelli folks at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas last Feb. say that they are working on a longer pad but would not say when it will be available. Now for the good part; I have had one (1) failure to feed with mine in approximately 20,000 rounds. It will work with 7/8 ounce loads at 1250 fps with no hickups and has done well with 3 in. HeviShot loads in the flooded timber duck shooting in Arkansas and with heavy phesant loads in South Dakota. Would I get rid of it; Not for anything. I work at a sporting range in Las Vegas and shoot 3-400 rounds a week primarily with it. Nevada SuperSport
  8. At the SHOT show in Las Vegas last spring I talked to one of the Benelli representatives about having the SuperSport in 20 ga with a 30 in. barrel. He stated that engineering was looking at doing this but it would take a while. I told him that they have the frame (legacy) already done, the barrels of the legacy could easily be made in 30 in. and the ComforTech stock of the M-2 20 ga is already done. So what engineering is needed. Since I bought my 12 ga SuperSort In December of 04, I use it for sporting and hunting and love it, I would think that a 20 ga version with a barrel longer than 26 in. should really sell. It would make a great quail and dove gun plus be great in small gauge sporting events.
  9. The ComforTech stock works wonders. New SBEII's can now be bought with one.
  10. Just follow the instructions in the manual. 250/300 rounds of what your chamber is made for; 3 1/2 or 3". I have had a supersport for over a year now shooting 300+ shells per week with no problems. it is a 3" chamber. I broke it in with 300 Nitro 27's from Remington (handicap trap load) and it functions well with my favorite load 7/8oz #8 shot at 1250 fps.
  11. Hello all. I have shot my SuperSport since last December at sporting clays, skeet and trap. I usually shoot 3-400 shells per week. The SS is now my favorite semi-auto. There are four of them being shot at the Nellis Gun Club. I am not aware of any problems with any of them. Great gun; just wish they would offer it in 20 ga with 30 in barrel. Fred
  12. Recently bought a 12 ga SuperSport with 30 in barrel. I have Beretta's (303, 390, 391); Winchester Sx-1's and Browning Gold's. The SuperSport is by far the best handling of the bunch. I have only one question. When will Benelli offer the SuperSport or Legacy in 20 ga. with 30 in barrel. This would be an ideal sporting clays small guage setup.
