  1. Your explanation makes a lot of sense to me. I had a brand new 11-87 I let a friend take to Argentina and when he brought it back it would constantly jam a shell on the carrier. I found a groove had been scraped in to the carrier and every other shell would hang up there. I ground it out and it was the end of the problem. That was with a new gun. I guess it illustrates the quality difference between Remington and Benelli.
  2. I heard the Argentine Government tightly controls ammunition production and importation and even sets prices to some extent. The outfitter for our upcoming trip said the government had jacked up the prices of shells recetly. That said, I believe we were shooting Fiochi ammo. Which worked very well.
  3. $10 a box is typical. Some places are $9 some are $10.50 or $11. $1,000 for a shell bill for Doves is actually low. If your friend was shooting ducks its another matter.
  4. I am glad you had fun - I don't know how anyone could not - It's so fun it should be illegal! Thanks for the info on customs. I was debating bringing my own gun again or just renting this time. 60% is good shooting, but if the birds are flying high it is excellent shooting. Congratulations on what sounds like a wonderful trip.
  5. How was the Argentina trip? I am going in February and was wondering how customs was this time. I have been told that bringing a gun into Argentina has gotten very difficult suddenly. I was also wondering about the Benelli M1 you were thinking about using. How did that work out? I brought a Beretta 391 last time and it worked great but the cleaning required at lunch and in the evening got real old real fast. I would prefer a Benelli for the ease of clean up and wanted to know how it worked for you. Thanks
  6. I recently sent an E-mail to Benelli customer service regarding the purchase of one of their magazine extensions and was told "all magazine extensions have been placed on hold for shipment and sale as per the ATF." Anyone know what this refers to? [ 07-25-2005, 05:12 PM: Message edited by: tkharris ]
