  1. I have been in contact with CS more times than I care to admit to. Always, the folks at Benelli CS have been first class and very helpful. KUDOS!
  2. Not to impune your skills as a shotgun shooter; however, in cases like this there are a couple of first steps to take to ensure the problem is with the gun...and not with the shooter: Have you disassembled the gun, cleaned it (absolutely), and then lubed it again, before shooting it the first time? Are you using new ammo? Have you cleaned the shotgun bore between shootings? Have you thoroughly checked out the bore to ensure that their are not any burrs, etc. in it? Have you asked an expert shooter (the club pro at trap/skeet/sporting clays venues) to shoot the shotgun to verify that the POI is wrong or right? Hopefully, one of these will solve your problem.
  3. Recently, I purchased a new (but not in box) shotgun trigger group. Problem is, I can't tell if the trigger group is for an M-1 Tactical...or the more common M2. The only two identifiers I have found are: both sides of the safety have a triangular cover; and on the left side of the trigger group (in a small indented area) directly above the trigger is the number 2. Can anyone tell me which shotgun this trigger group goes to? BTW, I have already been to the Benelli parts list/Customer Service and neither one could identify which shotgun this trigger assembly goes to. Thanks!

  5. Ok, to get a user's manual and parts diagram (plus Benelli part numbers) for your M3 go to Benelli Italy. You can download the files as PDFs....and I would recommend that you do so ASAP; as websites change overnight....and I don't know anywere else to get that info for free. As I have left my mag stock and my gun is brand new, I have never taken the spring out of it. Sorry I can't be of more help....but you will find directions in the User's manual. Paul
  6. I too have an M3. Yes, it takes both the 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Just for comparison sake, which barrel and sights did you get on your gun; pistol grip or not? If you have any other M3 questions, just drop me a line. Enjoy your great new shotty!
  7. I purchased my M3 less than a year ago...and spent quite a bit more. Good job!

  10. Evening Folks: Was wondering who in this Forum currently has a Benelli M3? I got a "New To Me" M3 a couple of weeks ago. First stop was to the gunsmith. Had the stock shortened to 13.5 LOP; put on a new better-recoil-absorbing stock pad; had a Brownell oversized safety installed (if you decide to use this, be sure to paint the small end red...so you can tell when it is not on safety); and also installed an Arredondo Benelli Carrier Release Bar. Except for the carrier release bar, everything went well. What is not obvious about the release bar...is that you have to pretty much dissasemble the entire trigger group to get the release button out...then have to drill and tap it. Finally, you have to modify (make it much smaller) it so it does not catch the M3 foreend when you are operating the M3 manually. Last modification was to change out the stock Benelli shell carrier for one that pretty much eliminates the dreaded "Benelli Thumb". The modified carrier can be seen here: http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=13902&d=1086135853. Next stops: awaiting a Vicker's tactical sling; then, shotgun goes off to Benny Hill for bolt lightening. Things I am thinking about: adding a GG&G oversized bolt handle; putting a scope mount on my (undriller or tapped) M3 so that I can try out a couple of optics; adding a tactical light with or without laser. Would love to hear other folks experience with the M3 and/or successful M3 modifications. Anybody have a TLR1...or other tactical light... installed on their M3? Will post M3 pix once I get the shotty back from Benny Hill. Regards, NoBeginner P.S. I would really rather have someone else learn everything the hard way (LOL); then have the joy of doing it myself.
  11. I would be interested in learning how much they are getting for that M3 Field Barrel. I have a tactical M3 with the 20" barrel...and who knows, maybe I will take up trap or skeet. Let me know! NoBeginner
  12. Speaking of oversized charging handles: Has anybody tried the ones from Dave's Metal Works? Website URL here: http://www.davesmetalworks.com/ BE AWARE: you have to have pop-ups enabled to get to the Benelli parts section I am particularly interested in knowing if anyone has experience with the: oversized safety, tactical bolt handle, or the speedbar (this gives you an oversized bar to use to push in the bolt release button. I would like to try the tactical bolt handle, but not even Dave can tell me the exact weight of it. I know the factory bolt handle on the M1-3 s weighs .1 oz... which is quite a bit less than the 1 oz titanium handle that started this original thread. Let me know your thoughts. NoBeginner
  13. Morning Folks: Just picked up my new M-3 from my FFL yesterday. Before I start using it I wanted to add a few mods: an improved carrier (to prevent Benelli thumb); a larger bolt handle; a larger safety; and a larger magazine release. Anybody have any comments regarding my proposed mods? Lastly, I went through my manual, but cannot see any information on removing the carrier; anybody know the easiest way to remove the carrier? Thanks In Advance! NoBeginner
  14. Does anybody know if the bolts on the M-3 are interchangable with the M-2, M-1, or Super 90 bolts? Any assistance would be appreciated NoBeginner
