You guys are right, I jumped off the deep end and I apologize. Inside the regular stock there is a pin/threaded bolt. If you take off your regular stock and look inside you can see it sticking out. This pin screws into the spring tube assembly and that is how the stock stays attached to the rest of the shotgun. It is like someone took the pin and snapped it in half, the threads are perfectly fine; it is a clean break.

With 2859 posts you would think you could come up with something better than that.

I guess you never looked at your exploded diagram that came with the shotgun. Turn to page 28 in the Spare Parts List and look at part number 280J. 280J is what keeps the stock from falling off as it attaches to part number 050J on page 18. The "bolt" that sheared off was number 280J.

I was about to go run at the track and thought I should deposit the money I have in my safe. I noticed one of my rifles had shifted in the safe so I went to move it. In the way was my brand new, never fired, Benelli M4. I barely touched it and the stock fell off! Along with the stock came three washers and the clip in the standard stock that you would affix the sling to. I was like WTF!?!? In the spring tube there was my pin, that should have been attached to my stock to hold it in place. It had sheared off! Of coruse this is some defect in the metal, and I am glad it happened now and not when I needed it. Anyone else ever heard of this happening to anyone? Off to the track now to run off my anger...

I think they do it on purpose to get us on the mailing list.

Both my M4's did not come with a choke, it seems common as I called Benelli and they are sending me new ones.

I need to get a digital camera, but it looks identical to the one m4madness has without the stock. I will get pictures when I finally get a digi camera.

I just picked up my M4 with the full-piece factory Benelli tube. It looks perfect - I can't wait to take it to the range.

I just bought mine for 1250 and found several shops selling for the same amount.

That is not a substantial savings, I could never figure out why people spend close to brand new prices for used guns.

No, this is the factory full-length tube. LEO's do not have to use the +2 extension, I have first hand experience with that from the LAPD and the Long Beach Police Department - both departments have the full length tube. The tube is identical to the one I posted in the picture, it came in the Benelli wrapper.

The telescoping stock will not be installed on the shotgun - it was an opportunity to purchase one so I did. In California it is legal to have 10 rounds or less in a pistol grip shotgun. The 5+ round limit died with the Federal AWB. The laws in California are very confusing. [ 07-01-2006, 11:23 PM: Message edited by: Diabolus ]

Hehe... relax hk53! Like AR said, I was only frustrated. But out of that frustration came a wonderfull thing. I just came back from a gun store after purchasing two Benelli M4's (11707) and I am getting the factory Benelli tubes installed just like the military model! Out the door price for 1580.
