  1. I was able to purchase back my original 121M1 yesterday.

It's been at least 20 years!

Really would like to put a recoil pad on it, suggestions?

Was there a direct screw on?

    What stocks fit the 121M1?

    Anything available?

Thanks in advance for the info, been a while since I played here.

  2. patience is a virtue!! importing tactical parts for benelli isnt going to get any easier and will most likely get to a point where they wont come in at all. think about it, benelli doesnt make hardly squat on these tac-part sales here. look who they ONLY sale to now. so why even bother in the future? they sell more guns. not to mention alot of companies are dropping lines of products in this bad economic time and are trying to figure out how to cut costs that dont pay off. and lets be real, most of the gun laws in this country over the past decade have gotten tougher/more restricted than the other way around. ill just hang on to mine and some day down the road they'll sell for the most they ever have. ;)

So true. I guess I'll put it back in the parts bin!

  3. Way to much mis info bro. For one where do you come up with the idea that a mag has to match a gun? that is the sillyest thing ever. I didnt even bother to read any of the rest. other than your very last sentance. Show me where it says I can not use a Pmag body to fix my pre ban mag. I know of many many hundreds of people including LE that have done this!

    "Bro"

Thank you for proving that if common sense was common, everyone would have it, do what you wish, it's your booking number.

But I can't leave without one last edification...

    A) I doubt you know "many hundreds of people" who do this or anything else.

    B) WE that are LEOs are exempt from the provision. As it states in the sections of LAW quoted above.

    C) Show me in the provision where it states you may "repair" a magazine.... Again an interpretation

    Take care Newbie,

Oh and "Bro" download a spell check program, you're selling yourself short.

  4. I understand they were not built then. But there is no law in california saying when I rebuild my 30 round pre-ban mags that I cant use a Pmag body, spring, follower or what ever. So what 99% of us californians that do know the law just rebuild our mag with Pmag parts.

Ahhhh, another interpetation of the law that is self serving.

If you are not covered by one of the exemptions (see some of them below) ...

    • If you did not possess a large-capacity magazine in California before January 1, 2000, you may not have it now
    • If the gun (and its matching magazines) did not exist before January 1, 2000, you shouldn't have large-capacity magazines for it now

(e.g. Springfield XD, first marketed in 2002 [as distinct from the 1999 HS2000]. You shouldn't be prosecuted for possession/use, but the timing can't be explained
      eek.gif

A contrary example: a legally possessed in California pre-1994 Para-Ordnance magazine may fit a post-2000 Para pistol - the
      gun
      didn't exist before 2000, but a
      magazine
that fits the gun did -- This is a gray area, you
      may
have this one - no logical contradiction.)

    • No one in or out of California may transfer a large-capacity magazine to a non-LEO California resident

The relevant Penal Code is 12020(a)(2)

    Prohibited actions:

    • manufacture or cause to be manufactured
    • import into the state
    • keep for sale
    • offer or expose for sale
    • give
    • lend

Note that it is not prohibited to

    • own a large-capacity magazine
    • possess a large-capacity magazine
    • use a large-capacity magazine, in whatever gun*
    • repair a legally possessed large-capacity magazine
(and, necessarily, to acquire the parts to make the repair --
remember it only makes sense to buy parts kits for existing
      legally-possessed large-capacity magazines)

(* Old magazine, new-ish magazine, old gun, new gun - all irrelevant; remember also the 10-round limit on fixed magazine OLL, a different law.)

Large-capacity magazines manufactured during the now-defunct Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device ban of 1994-2004 were marked 'Law Enforcement Only'. There are reasons one might legally have possessed them in California before 2000, but it is also legal to have the magazine bodies as repair parts for your other magazines.

There are exceptions in 12020(b), (b)(19)-(32) notably

    (23) The importation of a large-capacity magazine by a person who

lawfully possessed the large-capacity magazine in the state prior to

January 1, 2000, lawfully took it out of the state, and is returning

to the state with the large-capacity magazine previously lawfully

    possessed in the state.

    (b)(19) exempts LE agencies

    (b)(20) exempts LEOs

    (b)(21) exempts CA-licensed FFLs

(b)(22) exempts loans so long as the lender stays nearby

(b)(27), (b)(28) and (b)(29) exempt "entities that operate armored vehicle businesses" who buy large-capacity magazines, lend them to their employees or receive them back

The crux of this is INTENT and common sense, replacing a magazine body with a PMag body will probably not fly as a repair...

  5. Very interesting since Surefire is moving away from dedicated systems and putting all it's R&D into modular. Keeps cost and tooling way down, not to mention cross platform operability. I'd guess he was just "yesing" you a bit.

  6. In your reply, you state that a cell phone should be at your disposal. I agree, and do have that. The weapon should be "one that you can shoot accurately and be reliable in a stressful situation". This I also have, but it's not a .45 w/ a light. It happens to be a shotgun, that I have thousands of rounds shot through it, and could shoot it while half asleep, in a stressful situation, and most importantly, hit what I was shooting at. I do have a dog, although she is not half wolf, she is a formidable foe and would have to be dealt with. I will admit, I am an amateur when it comes to home defense, but rest assured, if they get past the dog, I will have something for them. I deeply respect your opinion but not the holier than thou attitude.

Ah, but my attitude is my opinion, they come together like a fine Montecristo #2 and a glass of 40 year old Taylor Fladgate, but I digress.

The reason you feel the wrath in my words is to remind you to TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN. The chances may be that you won't encounter this scenario, but then again, some will. So if my words are harsh it's because they have been for 29 years and the people I've trained have been tested. So go forth and practice how you'll play, and remember only perfect practice makes perfect.

    Always stay safe,

  7. I need to get a dog.

The problem is, I don't really like dogs.

But I need one to supplement my home defense plan ... as astute as I am, dogs hear and know stuff instinctually that I never will, so one must be obtained.

I really don't like needy creatures bugging me though ... what to do what to do.

Can be a real pain in the ass when you're not in the mood to deal with them but they are a great asset to keeping the family safe.

    Love those grips!

  8. *sigh*

    fail.

I agree, what would we do if it wasn't for all the Amateurs, Amateurs, Amateurs......

The only weapon you should have at your disposal (other than a cell phone to call 911) is one that you can shoot accurately and reliably in this moment of stress, while you're moving to guard the kids. Unless ofcourse you're brainfarting and now have decided to search your home, by yourself, for a possible armed intruder, who after you made all that noise, is now lying in wait. (Please- If this is your likely avenue, Unobtanium, Duggan or I would like to speak to your Widow about inheriting your weapons)

If you must do someone else's job, the TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN, yourself by setting up some obstacles between yourself and the target next time you're at the range. Measure the distances in your home and set up targets to simulate the scenarios. Simunition is a great equalizer for showing people their Amateur status.

But to answer the first question..... I have two solutions. Either one of them quite capable of ending the scenario, both also proven in their jobs.

  9. OK, maybe it's me but....

What would be the reason for this?

Scout optics forward on the bbl? Kind of useless on an entry weapon

Lights hung off the sides? Balance is thrown off

Laser sighting? Best applied to the bottom in line with the bore

All that said, Mesa with extra rds does the trick with a Surefire frontend.

Or just switch out to Kip's rail and a H1 / T1 sight.

    Comments......

  10. Does your gun have a loud safety that scares away game?

How does the stock come off, I took the rubber buttpad off and it still won't budge!

    Why is Obama killing America?

Does this skirt make my ass look fat?

    OMG!!!!

I just shot about 10cc of urine ( pissed my pants for those unenlightened)

Duggan you're killing me and BTW the skirt has no bearing on how big your ass is...
