Sounds good, here are a couple photos promised earlier. Sorry, but I haven't figured out how to adjust the size of posted pics. Any hints?

Why not mount the Surefire at the 6 o'clock?

I was looking at the KZ forend, but heard accessories fit loosely on the rails sometimes.
Everything I've tried so far on the KZ seems to fit tight (Tango Down vert grip, DD sling mount, Streamlight TLR-1, Insight M3X)

Is this in compliance:
Surecycle
Mag tube
Follower
Forend
charge handle
Mag spring
Sights
I replace all the above.
A US made FL mag tube, Follower and Forend would do it. The other parts you mention aren't on the list so they have no affect on your parts count (assuming your stock is not collapsable and assuming you're using a "M4 is comprised of 13 imported parts" letter as your reference.

You'll probably want to look at a KZ or Surefire forend for your last US made part.

That's gorgeous. Are you still going to run a T1 on there?

This thread has Kip's instructions which seem to be the most detailed I've seen:

Sounds good, Are you going to run a pressure switch for the X400 like Infidels setup?

Hey Caltac,
What accessories do you think you'll be running on the Sidearmor?

No problem, Don't worry, you're going to like it. The quality is great. After you get it, you should post your own review. I think the more opinions we have on the site about products the better resource the site becomes.

No worries, 11707 fit is great. I even e-mailed Sidearmor before I ordered since they only mention 1014 on the site. They told me that it was modeled on the 11707.

Hi Caltac,
Mine is a 11707 and no problems with the fit.

Hey MeanGreen,
Sorry you're having a fit issue. Mine fit no problem but it sounds like it will be an easy fix. Let us know how easy it is to resolve. The KZ does grow on you, I'm glad you're ok with the feel/weight/look of it. I'll post my thoughts on the Surefire m80 as soon as it arrives and add some pics to this thread as soon as I can. Unfortunately it sounds like I don't need to sweat 922r for awhile based on Kips latest post (I missed the order cutoff by one day!!)
I'm thinking of getting the U.S. made FL tube from Tactical Shotgunner it might be ok for a temporary setup til Kip can get things together

Looking forward to seeing the photos.
I experienced logistical difficulties getting a camera today but I'll get some pics up as soon as I can.

Hey MeanGreen,
Let us know what you think of the KZ when you get it (mine arrived within the week. Not bad for Botach) I think it's good to have a lot of opinions about products on the site so people have more to go on when their thinking about getting something. The follower that I got from Brownells (the one StrangerDanger recommended) isn't from DMW it actually lists Brownells as the manufacturer:

I arranged to borrow a camera so I'll get some pics up tomorrow afternoon.

Sounds like a typo or something. If the Sure Cycle works well with their extension tubes I don't see any reason it wouldn't like a one piece FL tube. I have a Sure Cycle follower I bought for my M1S90 with one of their springs.
the quality seems great but I also just got the Brownell's follower (U.S. made) that StrangerDanger recommended.

Good question! I just pulled off the top rail and it doesn't appear to affect the stability of the forearm since it is held in place just like the stock ones (between the receiver and barrel ring.) It looks to me like cutting the KZ just above the side rails might allow you to use the Sidearmor with the KZ as a grip. Although, it's possible there could be a little conflict between the siderails of the two units it's hard to say for sure until I can take some calipers to it and get some precise measurements but my initial impression is that it would work. If it did, I think it would be a great setup.

Their response to question #3 is surprising
