  1. Hookster........shes looking pretty. Glad you took the plunge and drilled that cheek riser into the stock. I was a little nervous doing that to my Walnut Scout, but it definitely rounds out the weapon. I took her out to the Range last week and just did some iron sight slow fire group's on the 100. I had to walk it up from the bottom to center because of the new front sight post i put on, but Check it out:

  2. Ha. That little extra peice threw me off too. It originally came off the back of the follower and was rattling around the Mag Tube when I swapped the stock tube out for one of Kip's. I was glad to see it go :)

  3. the little peice you were talking about that snaps in the back of the plastic follower. I am not looking at it now, but it just appeared to me to be a replacement/back up for the stock peice, but I cant remember. Bottom line though, you should be good to go with the Brownells one. So, No........you dont need to put it on your new one. Somebody correct me if I am wrong though.....I am no Jedi.

  4. I dont know if this helps but:

I bought the exact follower from Brownells and just completely swapped it out with the old stock one (and the little extra guy.) It has worked perfectly for me, no problems of any kind a few hundred rounds later. I replaced mine cause the old plastic one just looked kinda crappy and it was a nice minor upgrade.

  5. yeah, its too late he already bought one. My initial reaction was just to go with the M2, but he was complaining about the price. He is sort of a girl, so I lost interest at that point in trying to convince him otherwise. You simply just get what you pay for and I have heard a lot of similar complaints about Mossberg quality and customer service.

  6. Hey, anyone have direct hands on experience with one of these auto loaders? Friend of mine has recently gotten more involved in shooting as he was in the past. Took him out on the M4 a bunch of times and he was sold on an Semi Auto Shotgun set up. He didnt have the scratch to pick up an M4 new, and was sitting in the gun store looking at the Mossberg SPX 930 or the M2 Benelli. There was a $500 difference between the two. He called me and asked for input on his final decision while he was standing out front of the store. I told him to go with the Mossberg because it seemed to have a decent set up for the price (stock was 8 shot tube, Ghost Ring Sights/ w Rail) I read up on some of reviews and guys are complaining about them......then you have some guys bagging on the M4 but I notice none of them actually own one.......and am only chalking them up as haters. Just curious if anyone is familiar with this weapon at all.

  7. So, is it pretty normal for folks to put a +2 extension on a full length? I cant see those pictures for some reason and was just curious how that would feel shooting. Is it awkward at all ? Is it dangerous to have something sticking out below ahead of the muzzle?

  8. That looks awesome Skeeter. Love that rail up front. Hey, what kind of charging handle do you have on there? It looks beefier than the GG&G's.

also like that uzi you got. Keep on keepin on buddy.

  9. Good Luck Shooter. You are already heading down the right path. I love my other guns, but if the zombies swarmed the streets tonight.....my benelli is definitely my go to gun. Definitely one of the best weapons ever made. This forum is full of guys like StrangerDanger who have ton's of good input. Just come here when you need a sound board and your problems will be solved in hours if not mins. Later man.

  10. Yeah I remember you bringing that up before (Drilling Holes vs. Strap Style.) I have tried both and eventually went with the DWP Cheek Riser. I didnt find out abour Karstans until after I already made the purchase. The knobs are really heavy and strong. Very solid. Cheek Riser doesnt move at all during shooting, or shift after a day at the range. It stays where you want it and they bite down really good.

If you still have any reservations about drilling the stock....dont. The process is very simple and accurate. Post some pix up when you get that sucker together!

  11. BTW i need to put a disclaimer here that I purposely mounted it a litlte backwards with the lever on the left side. I have seen people do it both ways. I did it because I can ajust the locking nut at anytime once the aimpoint is put into the mount. The other way around....its stuck forever.
