Geissele hasn't sold hammers direct for over 3 months now, despite their assurances to the contrary. Does that make them liars? **** no it doesn't, but Kip understands perfectly and apologizes on their behalf, knowing full well the best laid plans of mice and men.
I know Kip personally. He works like an animal, and would win a bet that he could dig a foxhole faster than any man alive. But if you asked him to dig it for YOU, he'd probably take twice as long, not to spite you, but rather to make damn sure you couldn't complain about your accomodations. Most men appreciate that, but I digress. Big Hat, you're not like most men. It would appear by your repeated edits of your posts, you delight and obsess about belittling anyone with a disperate view.
It use to be annoying, but as the years pass, and you repeatedly roll in your own feces, the ire we once felt is giving way to pity. This is your hobby now. Take a look back. The basic issue remains despite your spirited defense of him. Regardless of competing projects, long R&D times and all your creative excuses on his behalf, why can't he simply execute on the timelines he sets himself? He's never responsible for failing to deliver, it's always someone else's fault or unforeseen misfortune on his part.
He generates his own problems around here. All of your posts of late are an entirely new approach at trying to explain why his crappy customer service is okay. It's not okay with me.
For all the johnny come lately types that feel compelled to defend Kip -- be my guest. But maybe you could also STFU up with your constant posts asking where the heck your Kip stuff is or when it's going to ship? No one knows, it's a total mystery and the last thing you should rely on is what Kip tells you.

I guess my whole point here is that Kip is a complete anomaly. He produces insanely high quality parts for a group of people and a weapon system that he enjoys. He doesn't even consider it a living--how could he, at the rate/price/cost of his sales? This is A HOBBY. When your hobbies produce things that I will spend money on, BigHat, then you can start telling us how a hobby should be "performed". However, I am unaware of what your hobbies even are.
Now, if you are going to allege that Kip has stolen money from you, then that is something entirely. However, I have never seen even you say that. So let the man enjoy his hobbies, and let everyone who wants to benefit from them do so. We know we are in for a wait, but it's so worth it.
I never even remotely hinted he stole money from me or alleged it here.. As a steady observer of these issues you know better than to post that. My complaint with him wasn't even about these delays. It was about direct lies saying he had already shipped me something when later it was proven he had not. And the belt fed BS excuses as to why his lying was justified.
You do make a very interesting point though. You say what Kip does is a HOBBY. First I've ever heard that. Seems like even you guys are now trying to rationalize this weirdness. Okay. So those that constantly post queries as to shipping and product availability now understand it's really not an enterprise that's run like a BUSINESS so adjust your expectations accordingly. Wish this was the first multi-month long thread about availability, but they've been almost non-stop for three years. Pick your item. So here we are two months into this one where shipping was supposed to start "next week" and nothing. Yep, quite a hobby.
Geissele selling hammers direct and FFT and others offer a good selection of parts. I remind posters that there are BUSINESS alternatives for your M4 needs.

Seems like Carrier Comp is just a newer company and this is a "newer" product they're trying to role out. That means you have to be patient. The usual Kip supporters with years on this site showed up in this thread in the last two hours. I agree with nearly all of them on everything they post other than Kip. Kip himself was also here. No one had anything to say in refutation to my earlier post. You thought you should post? Are you a newbie fan boi? 2 posts and a week here? I say that's the exact definition.

Whatever chip you have on your shoulder with Kip, BigNose, whatever awful crime he committed against you in the past that you can't get over...can you please take it up in a PM with him? This thread isn't about your beef with his process, it's about the products that he has developed.
When products are available he sells them, and the people who like what he has developed wait. He is under no contract to provide ANYONE here with dates/quantities/rates of production. Are you trying to convince others to take their business elsewhere? Why?
If people have found their way into this thread it is because of word of mouth or because they have followed the truly competent posters on this forum such as KB, Unobtanium and the like....NOT posters like you! You tell me what you have created and sold to the benefit of your fellow Benelli enthusiasts? Crickets.....

It takes some of the dimmer members around here more time than others to figure this clown out. Unsure if there's enough time for you though, jury's out. Only thing you can count on to be in stock with Kip is a large inventory of BS excuses. He'll never run out of those and it's a good thing. He needs them.
Find other sources, spare yourself the hassle.

LOL If you say so. Then you tell me why when I'm messing around and firing target loads from the hip I'll get the occasional misfire. And yet when I'm shooting from a correct stance there are zero misfires. I can feel that bolt not go all the way back when the gun fails to completely cycle. That is because the gun is being pushed back along with the bolt, since the shot is weak enough to not give that bolt enough force to cycle back completely when the gun is also jolted back due to nothing being behind it I could call that shooter error. A stronger shot like OO buck or similar will cycle the gun every time no matter how it's held, but there is a line to be drawn where shooter error can cause a malfunction when selecting different, weaker strengths of ammo.
Your post sounded wonderful, but common sense, physics and experience says otherwise. Also, if your statement is true, then why have there been posts on this board in the past from people claiming their M4s won't consistently cycle birdshot or target loads while others chime in and say their exact same M4s will. There are different factors involved here other than the pistons themselves. It's not as cut and dry as your post suggests.
I've had what happened to you happen to me. Watched my friend get a misfeed with slugs with a small-bore target rifle stance. Why do some claim an M4 will cycle x and others won't? I always assumed it was the level of break-in, rds through the gun. That happened a bit when mine was very new.

I got one of the first shipped from Primary Arms last week. I really like the Brobo QD mounts, but more on that in a second.
Bottom line up front: I really like the SRS and sold one of my T-1s as a result.
Very large FOV, great glass and the 1.75 moa is ideal in my view. Of course, a AA battery powered sight augmented by a solar cell. If you're out in the sun, with the optic on, you can remove the battery and keep on rolling. If you turn it off, it will not restart without inserting the battery. Everyone that has one aside from one guy agrees on this point (AR15.com discussion) he claims he got it to restart in very bright sunlight w/o the battery. I think he's in error, but until I can use it in very bright sunlight myself I won't be sure. Certainly doesn't on a sunny day on the back porch.
It competes very well vs the AP M4 in my view. The key debating point on this is if the asymmetric lens arrangement yields less of a tube effect than the M4. I cautiously say it does, but I have only fooled around with it. Crazy storm messed up my weekend plans to zero it in. Others assert that a "both eyes open" approach means the tube doesn't matter. My view is that it does a bit. Also, if it doesn't matter why did AP make a M4s that moves the battery compartment lower and out of the way?
I also think I found a mount every bit as good as LaRue and probably better. These Brobos are damn nice and everyone should check them out if unfamiliar. Now I know you're up to speed on the ARMs QD mounts on the Elcans. I find them more than okay, but some people bitched about the early versions. These are DAMN nice, clamp with precision, self-adjust and don't even mark your rail.
I may buy another one someday. I'm definitely selling my AP M4s and 3x mag.
Couple of comments above that are in error. They do make a flash killer, just hard to get right now. Same with lens caps that should ship shortly. They also do address parallax so they aren't hiding anything. Not interested in starting a food fight on this topic, but there's no such thing as a TOTALLY zero parallax error optic, even in red dots. Do a google search for points on that. Yes it's nearly nil in an M4 and is probably the same on the SRS. Trijicon writes in their SRS manual that the SRS is set up to be parallax free at 100 yds and suggests a 100 yard zero. Personally. I'm doing a 50/200 zero and will see for myself. I'd be amazed if it's any different from other quality red dots, but admit the jury is still out on that.

The "six of one, half dozen of another" expression is apt because the same recipe of choke, shotgun and ammo often yields differing results. That said, I do like the Blackbores you ask about above. www.blackborechokes.com
I'm no expert and have done only basic assessments, but the MR version patterns well for me. Most of the choke discussions are about sporting applications.

Based on that, the same "homework" would tell them there is no need to make more hammers either. I suspect they will find there will be a great demand when the next "assault weapon" ban comes around.
I've been following this thread and like some others remain at a loss trying to follow your posts, let alone put up with your attitude.
What are you trying to say? Doing one's "homework" would reveal that should one opt to put an adjustable stock on the M4 they need more than a US tube, US follower, and US handguard to be compliant. That's where the hammer comes in. It's an inexpensive part that the BATFE has listed in their list of M4 parts. So one NEEDS the hammer, no one NEEDs other FCG parts. Get it?
The "next assault weapon ban" (which is purely a BS assertion at this point) isn't germane to this discussion or the real world -- which is where most of us reside.

Geissele sent me a UPS tracking number 24 hours or so after I submitted my order.
I wonder why geissele states on their website that Carriercomp is an 'Exclusive' dealer when Brownells also carries them.
I suspect it was an early arrangement that wasn't been updated on the website. I'm not a Carriercomp fan so I got one directly from Geissele shortly after he made them. I guess buying four triggers from him helped. As a recall the "exclusive" agreement was only for 6 months or so, but I may not have that right.

He's a great guy. No reason not to give my business to the shop doing the work anyway, so I bought it directly from him almost a year back if memory serves. I love his AR triggers too.
Hopefully another batch is in the works. I always doubted a full FCG would be built. How many of us would have bought even a replacement hammer if it weren't for 922r issues.

The break in isn't to test the weapons ability to handle lighter loads, it's to work the internals....the springs. Where did either of you get that he wanted to use cheap shot to break in his weapon? He was asking for types of ammunition for the break in process and for post break-in.
I've bought 150 rounds of Federal's 2 3/4" mag shock 5 shot and another 50 3" magnum rounds. I for one was not aware that magnum came in 2 3/4" so that was nice to find so when I go full capacity on the magazine it's with the powerful round I was looking for.
I guess we're all victims of what we read here over time. IF someone asks for info on break in ammo as opposed to ammo to use, it's typically a question about the best fodder to pump through it. Still think sharing that lubing it up very well and just using good buck or slug rounds he'll use later isn't a bad approach for the initial rounds through the gun. While I admit to feeling better about any weapon after shooting a few hundred rounds w/o issue, most of my new acquistions work well from the start and that includes tight custom 1911s.

Not trying to change the subject, but....what ammo should I stock up with? Range break in, target, and home defense. This is my first shot gun other than a couple hand-me-down 20 ga. and I have allot the learn... looking forward to it. I want to be ready when it gets here. Then I'll start looking at lights, slings, etc.......thanks!
While I understand the concept of break in, my personal experience is that mine functioned perfectly with full power buck shot and slugs from the start. So I don't personally see the point of buying cheap trap loads etc to break it in. In regard to target and home defense I still think full power OO buck and slugs is the way to go. It's what this shotgun was built to shoot. As to brands, I'd buy 25 rds of buck and slug from three or four makers and see what patterns best for you and then stock up on that.

That would be "military" as in USMC Systems Command, etc, not "military" as in special deal for Sgt Jones.
I guess there is no harm in the OPs post, but kinda like saying, "I know a Ferrari is expensive, but I'm NOT willing to pay the going rate." Good luck. Maybe if you wait awhile they'll become less expensive, but until then why would anyone sell one below market value?

FFT is a well run business that has provided me with some VERY good M4 parts. Now that I'm compliant, I'm not super eager to replace more FCG parts, but the trigger pull improvement may pull me into the vortex.

They could go from 100 triggers to zero in a day or two based on positive initial reviews.

Don't know much about this but my office mate is an avid sporting clays shooter so I asked what he uses and he say he used a Modified choke for sporting clays. Most of the station shots have targets moving away from you.

My salient point that the fan boys fail to understand or chose to ignore is that he sets his own expectations for people here and has for years and then immediately fails to deliver on them. AND then those that haven't experienced it for themselves wonder WTF is up.
It's been so long I assumed there was a record as to the first issue I had with Kip. It'd really no longer germane, but here it is for you that feel I'm hiding something. I wouldn't have shared with Uno with a expectation of keeping it a secret. Many of you have probably already seen it. In a nut shell I was awaiting a tube, my first purchase. I called to ask about the status. Kip said it was going to ship it in a few days. It was approx 10 days later and no tube. I reached him by phone looking for some tracking info. He said he did not ship it as planned but had shipped it the day prior to my call. Okay, no big deal. We were all waiting for awhile back then and as it was commonly known delays were occurring. Too humid to paint them, key employee(s) just quit, working nights, medical issues, family issues, etc so I had no complaints. Actually thought I might of had it lost in the mail when I called him. Well, when my tube arrives approx 10 days later I note the postmark isn't the day prior I as I was told, it actually was posted about 7 days after the phone call. So yes, it wasn't the wait, it wasn' the quality of the part, it was that he was on the phone telling me the tube had shipped and it wouldn't for 7 days. For those of you blaming the USPS, I don't buy an 8 day delay in getting it properly postmarked. If he had said he would ship it in another 7 days I would have been fine with it, so why did he lie?
For those wondering about the USMC connection. During this period of one excuse after another people began giving him a break on the delays because he's a vet. As a Marine, that really pisses me off. If there's one thing that will create giant problems for you in the Corps is saying you'll do something and failing do to it. Of course, I have seen my share of **** birds in over 26 years of service (Full Colonel) and their behavior is nearly identical to Kip's. Always a new excuse, always someone's else's fault for failing to get the job done. Having been a party to a direct lie, I knew his integrity was in question. Personally, I don't think he conducted himself with honor.
But that's all water under the bridge. What prompted me to post in this thread after seeing it run for two months is that he continues to say he's going to do something and he fails to do it. The fan boy response is that 1) he's busy, 2) it doesn't matter because his parts are the best, 3) he's a good guy don't call attention to anything adverse that he does. He digs a fast foxhole (That's germane how?) 4) it's really a hobby for him so don't consider it a business.
Pick any or all of these excuses, but to me they don't mitigate the basic point. When he says he's going to do something some people actually believe him. Certainly not a contract, but viewed as a promise/obligation/expectation by some and people actually think he means it.
So the personal bone to pick with him some of you think I remain fixated on has long since passed and had nothing to do with weighing in here, but since you asked what it was...
This thread is just another example of a failure to do what he himself said he would do. People seeing this for the first time probably deserve to know it's not the first time. If the delays are immaterial to you, if you want his parts no matter what, then I say what I've always said -- it's your money. Just don't think you're dealing with a normal business man because you are not. And that's all there was to it.
