  1. m7carroll: I just purchased the SuperNova Tactical. The TacStar Mag Extension extends about 1/4" to 1/2" beyond the muzzle. This is a concern, but may only be an asthetic issue. You may also want to look at Choate and Nordic since they also offer Magazine Extensions. I also plan on adding the Magazine Clamp for additional support. There are variations of the Magazine Clamp that include Short and Long Picatinny Rails for Lights and Lasers, and Swivel Mounts for Slings. captnkc
  2. I have Bore Snakes for my .22, .223/5.56, and 9mm rifles and pistols. I also have one for my new 12 Ga. SuperNova Tactical. The package insert has the manufacturers suggested cleaning instructions. Check out Hoppe's Web site. The BoreSnale is machine washable. Someone suggested putting the BoreSnake in delicate garment bag. I think the package insert also indicated that you could tire the BoreSnake into a bundle using the weighted cord. captnkc
  3. JF, Look for the Brenneke slugs. I bought the Home Defense rifled slugs for use in my Benelli SuperNova Tactical. Ammo to Go has 100 rounds for about $1.00 per slug. Use the Rifled Version for the Tactical Smooth Bore Barrel. Federal. Fiocchi, Remington, and Winchester make "Managed Recoil Rifled Slugs." I purchased some WinLite Low Recoil 00 Buck (WL1200) and Royal Buck Low Recoil 00 Buck (RBLR129). Both have 9 pellets and sell for $4.99 for a box of 5. I also purchased some Remington Managed-Recoil STS Target Loads, 2 3/4", 1100 FPS, 7/8 oz. 8 1/2 shot (RLSTS1285) and Winchester AA Xtra-Lite Target Loads, 2 3/4", 1200 FPS, 1 oz. 9 shot. Bass Pro has the Remington at a reasonable price for a case of 250 shells, and Gander Mountain was also reaonable for the Winchester Xtra-Lite Loads. I think Fiocchi and Winchester also offer similar loads at a lower recoil at 980 FPS. You may need to order the 980FPS shells on line. captnkc
  4. Mr. MAC: I use the A-ZOOM Snap Caps or Pachmayr Dummy Rounds in all of my weapons. I use them for dry firing, or just to check the weapon to make sure it is functioning correctly before live firing. I recently purchased the Benelli SuperNova Tactical. I also installed the TacStar 7-Shot Mag Extension. I loaded the SNT with 6 Rounds. I used 4 of the Pachmayr Dummy Rounds and 2 of the A-Zoom snap caps to simulate loading alternate shells. One of the Pachmayr shells jammed in the magazine. I disassembled the magazine, and used my gun cleaning rod to dislodge the Pachmayr round. The end that simulates the Brass Head was misformed and had a cut-off burr. That probably caused the shell to jam. I did notice one thing that concerned me. The SNT, the A-Zoom Snap Caps, and Pachmayr Dummy Rounds are all new. I am seeing witness marks (gouges) in both the A-Zoom Snap Caps, and Pachmayr Dummy Rounds. The gouges are on the outside diameter, and extend in toward the center of then shell about 1'8" to 1/4". The Gouges look like the are being caused by the Shell Carrier. The gouges are almost equal in distance to the front end of the Shell Carrier. I do not plan on reloading ammo at this time. I am not that concerned about live fire shells. Do you think the gouges are in indication of a Faulty Shell Carrier? Should I contact Benelli and ask for their input.? I would appreciate your input. captnkc
