and most of my duck shooting is decoyed birds, they are not going 30mph+ and are pretty soft at less than 30 yards hovering.2 3/4 inch steel #4 blow clean through most of them.i find crows make up for lack of speed and "hardness" with their inteligence.
-
anybody here hunt crow,i do and love it.it helps wing shooting skills, calling and set up.I only hunt them after duck season but it sure is a blast.just something to chat about.
-
both choices are good.but what are you going to use this new shotgun for, different game,or use it for the same?just questions to ponder.i have several shotguns and they all have certain uses.i also love upgrading my shotguns so thats why i answered that both choices are good.so it depends on what you are coveting the most.have fun shooting.

I.C. in close barrel and skeet in the closer barrel, with high velocity steel #4.2 3/4" in the closer and 3" in the close.gotta love that steel sleet storm.my shots are all restricted to 35 yards or less. -
where i am i still have until 29 of jan, hope something pushes them down here between now and then.but i still had a good hunt for it even if they dont arrive."a bad day at the marsh still beats a good day at work"
-
havnt had a good day at the marsh now for almost a week,is anyone else having the same luck or is mine the only one that is bad?
-
finally got that sxs.one day and a box of shells no problem at all,i did notice that the forearm was a little loose, but after some inspection found the screws to be loose.pain in the but to get all that packing grease off of it.already have shot game with it.the barrels are regulated way better than i ever thought they could be.so far this shotgun is exactly what i wanted.thank every one for their info and reviews.
-
must still be in the field with it.
-
wondering how that sxs is holding up,i am purchasing one just like it this weekend(i hope).any failures or any thing i should be aware of.how it shoots as far as point of aim vs point of impact, are you satisfied with your purchase? dont mean to pry but really want to know the ins and outs of this particular sxs. all the problems that i hear about them has been the single trigger model, which i am NOT interested in.

i have hunted phes 1 time in my life when i was 15,loved it,any way where i live there are none to 0 pheasants.but there is a "farm" that i can pay to hunt them.it seems kinda of high, but am seriously contemplating it.i am now 40 yrs young and ready to take more birds.has anybody done this?if so let me know if it was worth the price.thanks all for any replies.
-
anybody shoot these or know where they can be purchased?or do they even make them?im interested in shooting these for all ducks, and i know somebody will tell me not to use #4 for large ducks but all my shots are less than 35 yards.and i believe a huge sleet steel storm of pellets will kill, especially under 35 yards.
-
you should be good, just put that pattern on the front half of the bird.
-
thats about 50%,i wouldnt go any further than 35 yards with it.it seems that this combo would be great over back peddling decoyed birds.where most shots are under 25 yards.how are your wingshooting skills?have you taken birds on the wing before?there are alot of variables here and it is hard to point at the problem.this load would seem fine for small ducks at close range, even up to 35 yards, large ducks i dont think it would be very effective.i am assuming that the 119 pellets are inside a 30" circle @ 35 yards.i believe if you can get the pattern on the front half of the bird you got him.
-
you can i called the game warden.it(waterfowl regulations) isnt very clear if you can or not ,the only thing it says about teal is the september teal season.
-
have you put that choke load combo on paper at the ranges you plan shooting?it will also tell if your point of aim is the same as point of impact.
-
can you take teal in the regular waterfowl season in okl?
-
my duck gun is MAX 4,dont know if the ducks cant see it but i like it.great rust resistance.

i use accu steel extended full for #BB,#1,#2(this is what the choke has printed on it)i doubt that it is the same I.D. as "lead" full chokes.but anyway it works great out to 40 yards with #2 steel.not a big believer in high dollar shot shells.they kill ducks, but so will the cheap stuff.
