  1. I've been on this forum for a while now and I've come to the conclusion benelliwerkes has all the cool toys!

You will get no argument from me on that point. :)

thx for sharing that setup werkes!

  2. ahhhh those pics are cute. I like the little general in his cap and jacket. Why is it the little ones always seem to be in command?

Lost my pups 11 months ago yesterday. She died of cancer at 6. Not ashamed to say I haven't been the same since. It seems silly to grieve for a dog when there are so many other more important things going on, but that's the way it is.

Fantastic bird dog until the gun went off. So: not fantastic at all. Best companion you could hope to have. Smart, obedient, sweet natured, gentle, patient, tough, and energetic. Great with kids, other dogs, cats, and people. In other words: the opposite of me.

Give your pups a hug for me.

  3. Sweet little gizmo. Sold out on the KAC site.

I checked around and if Weapon Outfitters inventory system is accurate they have around 10 in stock as of this post.

I've never shopped there so anyone with experience can weigh in. I may transact there if I can't find it elsewhere.

  4. Move the light forward a tad, (mount on tail cap), you might be able to get away not having to loosen mount to change battery... careful not to smush it too tight. May cause cap to deform and you will not be able to loosen body to open.

That is a good idea. I noticed that was the preferred setup for the other lights, but I was mildly concerned about the light vibrating loose under heavy use so I moved it back a little bit. I think my fears are unfounded so I am going to set it up that way and do some heavy shooting to test. That won't be until late Dec though.

@ Werkes: Hah it's not a picture from the internet unless you can see someone's foot. I cropped mine out. :)

    Best,

  5. My pics lack the polish of the photos from Messrs. SD and Werkes but I'm thrilled with the mount so here it is:m4_light_n_mount.jpg

Clearance is great, operation is a breeze, and no tool required to break the gun down for cleaning. This is a superb solution. Everything mounts very solidly. I opted not to put any tape between the mount and the barrel because I didn't have any.

I did have a good supply of Loctite 243 so I used that in all the screws as spec'd.

When I get a chance to shoot it (not any time soon) I'll provide more feedback.

  6. For sale: Like new Sidearmor Quick Detach Short Rail and 6 Round Quick Detach Shell Holder (mod 3)

$120 shipped CONUS via USPS 2 day priority mail.

Prefer discrete paypal (no fees), money order, or personal check (add 10 days to clear).

This setup no longer fits my intended use for the gun. It is like new. I mounted it, test fired, set it aside as an HD gun and it's been sitting for ready use ever since.

The shell retention is identical to the day I got it. IMO if you run a mounted shell holder these are superior to similar alternatives, in part because the retention is so consistent.

PM me your email if you want the full size photos or have any questions. SHELLS NOT INCLUDED.

    Info from Sidearmor site:

    Rail system:

It replaces the factory rail and uses an adaptive quick detach system. The innovative shell holder quickly attaches and detaches from the rail. This gives the capability of removing bulk from the shotgun and changing the load requirements of your shotgun shells by swapping shell holders.

Specs for the Quick Detach Short Rail include weight: 3.2 oz, length: 5.42", 13 recoil stops

    Shell holder:

The quick detach shell holder uses a slide-locking system that gives the user the ability to remove the shell holder body in seconds with no tools. Removing the shell holder simply requires pushing down on the lock bar and sliding the shell holder body back 1/2" on the slide.

The advantages to this system include quick access to the trigger take down pin and multiple shell holders that can be staged with different load requirements. The shell holders are easier and quicker to remove for safer storage of the shotgun.

  7. Do whatever will serve you the best. The shotgun is a superior defense weapon only if it isn't too heavy for you.

if you're low on funds I don't think I would trade for a piston gun unless you plan to shoot suppressed a lot. And for that much money you should love it. You could build a trick DI gun for less that works just as well.

  8. Which parts do you want to upgrade? Do a quick search on 922r compliance before you start installing new parts. It is not difficult to stay compliant but it may influence your purchase decisions.

For mag tubes I would look at the steel option if you don't want to wait for carrier comp. a guy on here makes them and they are great, and only 3 oz heavier than titanium.

  9. We are gonna start cutting tomorrow. I was doing some reading about carving the checkering and found these two videos. The lazer is just frigging awesome. But I am looking forward to doing it by hand like in the first video.

that laser looks like something out of science fiction.

The wood stocks look superb. I would snatch them up if I had an m2.

I think your effort is on the right track. This could turn out very well. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it.

  10. What was he saying that was a nuisance I remember watching his videos and I saw that he had an account on here that was banned. Or is he now "he-who-must-not-be-named"?

Its no secret. The guy has been banned from three forums that I visit. He's a troll. The community here is small so he didn't last long. He's an idiot with a video camera and an Internet connection.

Op probably didn't know any better. Probably.

  11.

These weapons look awesome when they're worn and torn.

Agree 100%. They don't start to look really great until some of the finish wears off the high spots, get broken in.

Related anecdote: Was in a class last week and instructor mentioned about a student asking how he could "get his gun to be that color" - because the finish was very worn. Instructor replied with words I cannot repeat here because it was too colorful, but the main message was USE IT.

Looking forward to seeing these projects assembled.

  12. You're not a number, you're a free man!

    WHO IS NUMBER 1??

(My old man used to make me sit through the original Prisoner series when I was a kid - that stuff still gives me the willies.)

You'll be shopping a Benelli before too long if you spend any time on this forum. Welcome!

  13. Nobody mentioned Elzetta? : )

I copied hooksters setup: bmt and x300 ultra. I don't love it but it is pretty good. I may switch to a full size light but that means adding some weight, which I'm trying to avoid. I use my left index finger to activate the light. That is not strictly correct but I'm working around it.

Op, try some different things and see what works for you. There isn't a best solution, unless you do a build like strangerdanger.

  14. This looks very mall ninja. And that's coming from a person that owns an M4 that looks mall ninja.

They aren't doing anything to save weight, and they're emphasizing stuff that I think is absurd on a combat shotgun. Cheek weld? I know it is relevant but is it more important than saving weight and complexity? Not to me.
