1. Thanks guys. Sukhoi, I just used a fine tip craft soldering iron from Sears, Craftsman brand.
2. IIRC, it was approximately $80 for both.
3. That looks good shadow. I stippled mine, but I stippled only the ribs, I like the way it turned out, and it gives me a really good purchase on the forearm.
4. Stranger, No, tolerances were not affected. I made sure of that before I had that done. there was less than .0001 added to the OD, and it feels just like before. Otherwise I probably would have done the same thing you did hehe.
5. Well I got my M4 pistons NP3+'ed by Robar probably over a year ago, but haven't had a chance to post a review. I've shot quite a few times since then, and the carbon still just wipes right off. Here is a side by side picture of a dirty piston and a clean one. Literally takes me a minute or two to clean one. Carbon can still get nasty if you let it sit on them, then it takes longer to scrub off, but as long as you clean right after your range trip, you should be good to go. Pretty happy with my minute upgrade. -Jack
6. You're in a whole world of sh*t if you need to double tap 4 targets with your 12 gauge. Not to say it couldn't happen, but really ? C'mon now, don't go the way of the internet arm-chair commando.
7. *sigh* I'm so disappointed in my fellow Americans right now.... I really hope this does not come to pass, because you really never know anymore.
8. Oh I know, I have a BCG on my SBR coated in this. It's amazing.
9. Hey guys, finally got the call that my pistons were finished being NP3+ coated over at Robar. Swung by there today and picked them up. They look and feel GREAT. You can feel the lubricity just running your finger up and down over the surface (That sounds dirty, sorry lol). Re-installed them back into the M4 and will be taking it out on Saturday to give you guys a full range report. I'm going to try and get them really dirty to see how easy cleanup is.
10. Yes, them especially. I'm just kidding man. Mine were a ***** to get off the first time too. I dont see why the charging handle can't break them loose. Sorry you're having issues man, you'll get em off eventually.
11. Pushups x2 weeks. Then try again.
12. I love my DMW Speedbar. Only $20 but does the job more than adequately. I have tried the GG&G, but for $100 less, I honestly feel (in my opinion only) that it does the same job just as well with little to no fitting required.
13. I'll wait for you RDA1, no worries. KFAB, did you come up with some custom loads you wanted to include ?
14. Ok, thanks, i'm tempted to just shoot them all though lol. But i'll take one apart so everyone else can check it out.
15. Alright Guys, I received the baby magnums from Creeper. Was anyone else going to send anything they wanted to get tested ? If not, i'm going to start prepping for these tests. I'll do them as soon as my NP3+ pistons come back from coating.
