  1. Does anyone have any problems with assembling a SBE II? I'm use to assembling Browning autos and recently bought the SBE II. It seems to be a pain in the butt to get the barrel back on it, even after reading the instructions which I have NEVER had to do before with any other gun! I love the SBE II, but would appreciate anyone's advice for the proper/EASY way to get the barrel back on following dissassembly.
  2. Matthew: Yep, I know exactly what you mean about jamming with light loads. I bought my SBE II about 3 weeks ago and planning to use it primarily for waterfowl. Anyway, I wanted to get use to it first so I took it to shoot sporting clays and attempted to shoot 12 ga. 2 3/4" #7 1/2 shot with 3 drams of powder, 1 oz. shot. It wouldn't cycle them and the bolt kept short-stroking. So I bought some shells with 3 1/4 drams and 1 1/8 oz. shot and didn't have the first hiccup! However I have now shot approx. 500 rounds through it and it still will NOT shoot those light load shells which are strictly target shells. Everyone told me that the SBE II will feed anything you give it, but mine will not. It's not a big deal since it's not my regular sporting clays gun, and I can get the heavier loaded shells for the about the same price. I will say that I dearly love my SBE II, especially compared to the Benelli M1 I had several years ago. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it, but I'm pretty deadly with the SBE II!
  3. Benvand, That's an unusual situation, but since buying my Super Black Eagle II a couple of weeks ago, I'm learning that Benelli's are a different breed when it comes to assembly/cleaning, etc. If I were you, I would call the Benelli customer support line directly. When I got my new SBE II home, I found that the flourescent part of the front site was missing. I called the customer support and they got me a replacement site overnight free of charge. They're really good to deal with and I'm not sure I would trust anyone else to tell me how to correct the problem, even though it is probably something simple and just one of those "Benelli idiosyncrasies."
