  1. I did this about five years ago. Wanted a choke tool to more easily remove and install chokes. While there are some nice ones available, $20-30 is nuts for a uni-task tool

-Take your Benelli factory choke tool and drive the cross pin out.

-Drill the hole put to 7/32”

-Chamfer the edges to remove any burrs

-Use a #1 Phillips screw driver or a USGI steel cleaning rod section as a new handle

  2. The way I look at it is this.

If Benelli can’t or won’t import the part, dealers and distributors can’t get the part imported, I sure as **** wouldn’t stuff one in a suitcase. There may be a bit of a gray area with a firearm part as opposed to an entire firearm. However, I default to the above.

Take importation of parts from Canada as an example. There is a restriction upon what can be imported and the value is limited to $100 for one part and a limit of a total value of $500 for a single transaction.

Last I knew bringing any part into the US from Europe required an APPROVED form 6 importation permit to be presented to customs upon arrival.

  3. I hear what you’re saying......I have both optics. I don’t have both mounts, maybe I’ll try both & find out for myself 1st hand.

Less view obstruction with the RMR

I would prefer less of the sights in the optic anyway

Auto adjust isn’t bad at all

Changing a battery once a year is not a big deal

Re-zero for the optic isn’t an issue either

The only benefit I see to the AimPoint is it’s sealed from the elements. Where I’m at, if I were using something other than a pistol at the house, it would be an AR. And I sure as heck wouldn’t be chasing a bad guy outside. That is simply stupid and will get you a 8x10 jail cell
