Makes sense.
I just shot my M4 this past weekend for the first time. I put about 100 rounds through, all lead, 4 buck, BB, & slugs at an indoor range. 2 3/4" and 3". Not a single misfeed.
Thanks for the reply..
You have an indoor range that allows you to shoot buck?

Oh I see. Okay, well it should be all good then.
By chance do you know anyone selling the Rm33 or a LaRue like that? Now that the new stock is on, I've decided to keep the rail since having the RMR on there will keep my head up a little bit. I don't mind the ergonomics of the stock with the iron sights, but my cheekbones stick out a bit and whenever I shoot a 12 gauge in that position I get smacked in the face.
I’d check out the ADM mount. I have used their mounts across platforms and optic types and have had great luck. I currently use an ADM Low for my T-2 on my M4. They make an RMR one: https://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/241/

From the pictures it looked much better than the stock tube, so I'm sure it will be even nicer in person!
Quick q- I know it comes with their premium spring. Will I be able to get seven 2 3/4" Federal buckshot in there, or will it give me trouble like the Benelli factory spring?
I replaced the OEM spring with the Wolff in my factory 7 round tube. Now I’m able to get 7 Federal buckshot in there.

Thanks SD. I was reading up about ArmorLube as well. Seems like an interesting NP3 alternative.
-
Is there a way to get the benefits of NP3 while preserving a darker color?
-
This looks interesting. Might pick it up to give it a whirl.

Correct on the mounting. Screws in from beneath the IWC mount.
How easy does the light pivot on that mount? Can it shoot loose and start flopping?
Thanks, that’s helpful!
It’s rock solid. You basically can set your preferred angle and then tighten the screws at the top. I’ve put a bunch of buckshot and slugs through it and it’s stayed put.

Never messed with a pro series Scout light. It doesn’t look like you can remove the mount from the light body.
What I would do is buy a Modlite 18650 replacement body for your DF model light. The lamp head and tailcap will fit right on.
https://modlite.com/collections/light-bodies/products/modlite-18650-bodyAh, and then that replacement body us screwed directly into the two holes on the scout mount?
Still debating whether I like the current light position or not. One benefit is that it doesn’t jam into my thumb from recoil, but the downside is that I do have to adjust my hand position to activate.

So, this may be a dumb question, but how exactly do Scout lights mount to the IWC Scout Mount? I have one of the Pros that comes with the low profile 1913 mount, so I just used the 1913 version of the IWC. However, I don’t see how it would actually be screwed onto the scout mount otherwise. Haley Strategic D3. Padded, but not nearly as bulky as other padded offerings. Awesome adjustment system too. Little pricey, but worth it for me.

Didn’t see one, so figured I’d start with mine.
Upgrades/Modifications:
Mesa Tactical 8 shell side saddle
Aimpoint T-2 on an ADM Low Mount
OEM Forearms stippled by Tango Arms
Surefire M640 DF ScoutLight Pro on IWC 1913 mount
IWC Rear QD Sling Mount
GG&G Bolt Release
TTI Extended Carrier
FFT/Wolff Magazine Spring (let me get 7 Federal 00 Buckshot in the tube while OEM only got 6)

Hello ALL. I just purchased the best combat shotgun available. M4 (M1014) and glad to be part of this group. Unfortunately this is a 922R question. I have done some research but there are too many contradicting answers out there. The only true upgrade I want to do is the full length CC 7 round tube. As much as I think this regulation is absolutely stupid and I would probably never have problems with not complying , am I correct on having to replace a total of 3 factory Benelli parts and replacing those 3 with US made to keep it compliant? Here is my plan... the CC full length titanium tube with follower and spring (spring doesn't count) would count as 2. Then by replacing the forend (FFT forend) that would make 3. Would this combo make it compliant? The M1014 I purchased obviously has the fixed skeleton stock. I know there is great knowledge here... thanks

I dont use it on my M4, but I have an RMR on my Glock 19 and would not go larger than 3.25 MOA. Unless you have vision problems, I think the 6 MOA is too big.

I have not but could easily try it next time I take it to the range.
That would be great! I'm a lefty and am considering the 8 round side saddle, but wondering if the last couple of rounds will bite into my hand when firing.

Took the M4 out to run the Briley handguard through its paces. Burned through 300 shells nonstop. The handguard didn’t even budge. I must have gotten one of the updated ones. No wiggle or looseness whatsoever. Another great thing is that it doesn’t transfer the heat to the handguard like most aluminum handguards do, and the barrel was scorching hot! Got a bunch of reload drills in and only dropped two shells. All in all in was a great range session.
Have you tried shooting it left handed? I’m wondering if the bigger side saddle causes issues at all.

Correct. No Picatinny mount will allow for a co-witness. They will also throw off your cheekweld by raising the RMR as much as they.
Shamelessly jumping on this thread to lobby y'all to bring back a Sync mount for the Aimpoint Micro

Anyone still looking? I have one for $430 shipped
NIB or used?

How do you like the sight picture with that Hensoldt? Doesn't appear to co-witness with your irons, but assuming that's a non-issue for you?
-
Thanks for the replies all. Looks like the MI one (unless Scalarworks brings back the Sync) is the only option for a cowitnessed T2 mount.
Of course, with the angled collapsible stock and changing sight picture depending on where it’s positioned, perhaps cowitnessing is not that important.
-
It’s a little spendy, but I run a Haley Strategic D3 sling. It’s padded but not nearly as bulky as a VCAS or other products out there. Great adjustment system and the ability to easily move from 2 pt to 1 pt as needed.
-
Any suggestions for the best Aimpoint T2 mount for the M4? I cant seem to find the Midwest Industries version in stock anywhere. Are there any others that allow for co-witnessing with the iron sights?

Don't be afraid to trim a few (+) coils off your spring if you decide to go with the Rio Buck.
Thanks! I also tried Federal LE Tactical 00 Buckshot (the Flite-Control stuff) and same issue in terms of only being able to get 6 rounds in the tube. Really liked how it patterned though, so might have to figure out this spring reduction thing.

Yeah, I originally ordered the pic rail version because I have one of the new Scout Light Pros that comes with a low-profile integrated mount. However, I can confirm that even that mount doesn't allow you to get as close as the Scout mount. Earl from IWC confirmed that they designed the pic rail primarily for folks wanting to use X300s, Inforce WMLs, and other such lights. I think "traditional" lights are best addressed via ring mounting.
True or False: M4 won't cycle standard 2 3/4" loads.

Uh, no, the guy was full of it. I’ve shot 00 buck, #4 buck, and slugs through mine. All 2 3/4 loads. The M4 does like to be broken in with full strength loads, so just avoid the low recoil stuff at first.
