  1. Does anyone have pictures of the IWCS QD Rotation Limited Sling MOUNT-N-SLOT for Benelli Collapsible Buttstock installed on their shotgun? The few pictures I’ve found I can’t see the qd mount with the sling attached. I’m not very mechanically inclined (read: I’m a long time award winning thread stripper) and I’m starting to worry about installing this after reading comments here about the screws being too big for the buttstock slot. Does it come with instructions or will I need to figure it out myself? Appreciate any help or suggestions. I’ve just become aware of the necessity of a sling for my HD shotgun and from other posts here it sounds like this is the best option but I’m worried about the install.
  2. My RMR and American Defense low mount arrived today. I went with the titanium model as the specs listed the height identically and I was happy to save a couple of ounces. For comparisons sake, I have an M4 with the Scalarworks mount / RMR combo and with the collapsible stock fully extended this puts the red dot at the perfect location for my eyes and co-witnessed with the iron sights. The folks at Scalarworks are great folks and their mount / RMR combo is my ideal setup on an 18” general purpose M4 shotgun. I am in the process of purchasing the M4 Entry model (14” SBS) and, in an attempt to keep it as short as possible, I wanted to run the 14” Entry model on the middle stock setting. The iron sights and Scalarworks / RMR combo is way to low for me with the stock in the middle position. When my American Defense Mount and RMR arrived today I put them on an unmodified Benelli M4 that still has the factory pic rail and, with the collapsible stock on the middle setting, this is a great height and sight picture! It may be just a touch high for me as, from the low ready, I’m coming up to be met with the dot in the lower quarter of the RMR sight glass. Perfectly acceptable and something I’m fully used to within a few action / ready drills. I’m getting a very good/ comfortable / familiar cheek weld which was very important for me (muscle memory, etc). This is a great solution that will work for my M4 Entry setup and I’m grateful for everyone who took the time to help!
  3. @bigdog02 , I have the Scalarworks RMR combo on my 18” M4 and with the collapsible stock extended at the last position it’s perfect. Absolutely no better setup. I’m going to add the M4 Entry model (14” SBS) to the lineup and I’d like to keep it fairly short by using the middle setting of the stock. At the middle stock setting the Scalarworks RMR combo puts my head too high above the factory sights and RMR red dot. If this ADM low mount on the factory rail is slightly higher it will help me keep my familiar cheek weld. If not, going back to the last setting on the stock and a Scalarworks RMR will be my backup plan.
  4. @M2_shootr @Nocturnalnature Thank you both for taking the time to help! @Nocturnalnature I think I’m going to give one of those a try. Thanks for your help! I think this is exactly the solution I’m looking for. The concerns about the zero return was due to some comments about the Benelli factory pic rail being less than bullet-proof but if it’s working for you I see no reason it won’t work for me. Thanks again!
  5. Is this it? https://www.primaryarms.com/american-defense-quick-detach-trijicon-rmr-mini-right-hand-mount-titanium-lever-low
  6. Do you have a link for the mount? I think I’d like to give this a try. I’m thinking this might be perfect for the SBS. Does it hold zero for you?
  7. I’m not a fan of the government but I don’t think that’s true. Where did you get this information?
  8. @M2_shootr, I’m considering this setup (T2 on factory rail). Why did you change? @Nocturnalnature, Are you still running this setup?
  9. Will the center of the T2 be above the standard iron sights? Scalarworks lists the co-witness as a lower tenth. Would that mean the majority of the T2 viewing window would be above the irons sights? Sort of like this > ( . )
  10. I appreciate you guys taking the time to post and offer additional insights. I’m kinda leaning towards buying but I’m still nervous about the NFA aspects. I guess there’s worse things than having a backup Benelli M4 given today’s political climate.
  11. I have a 11715 model M4 with the extended magazine tube and adjustable stock. It’s my go to / favorite home defense weapon. Have a friend looking to sell a Benelli M4 14” Entry SBS and I’m hoping to get current owners’ opinions. I’m not sure it gives me much benefit for the price. That four inches doesn’t seem to do a lot vs the NFA hassles that would go along with it. Current owners: Would you buy one again? Is it more of a help to home defense / CQB than I’m seeing initially?
  12. Thanks SD. I’m not generally a fan of co-witness because of the overly busy sight picture it creates. I have the Scalarworks RMR package on an M4 without the night sights and it’s not bad but I have no experience with the Benelli factory night sights. Maybe they won’t be as bright as I’m expecting.
  13. I just bought a Benelli M4 with the night sights. Hasn’t been delivered yet so I’m not sure what to expect ref: brightness of the night sights. I’d like to add the Scalarworks T2 optics package but I’m worried it might create a distraction with the illuminated night sights and the T2 illuminated red dot. Does anyone have this combination or used it that an give me some insight?
  14. I couldn’t be more embarrassed to make this post. Maybe I just had a really bad day but I’m pretty frustrated. Last time out with my Benelli M4 I was able to get a moderate-to-fair zero but I wanted to fine tune a bit so I grabbed a couple boxes of slugs and headed to the range. I have only modified my M4 with the Scalaworks RMR (rail and red dot sight) and I changed the modified choke to a cylinder choke which works much better with my home defense ammo - Hornady 00 buckshot (versatite wad) and the Federal 00 buckshot (FliteControl wad). I was shooting with the red dot rather than the iron sights. I was using Federal PBS127DPRS slugs and shooting at 50 yard from a bench with a front rest. I have attached pictures of my groups. First group - One shot on top of another starting from center of target and dropping (one I threw a little low and left). I was pretty stoked, this is hoping to be a great day! I can adjust my elevation a bit and I’ll be right on! Group #2 - I’m scattering shots a bit low and left. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. LastGroup - I only have 5 rounds left. I better really concentrate on great individual shots. And the result is four shots vertically centered reasonable well but several inches away from each other and one (my first shot of the group and I know I was holding right in the center of the target) that is nearly off of the left edge of the target. Wow. This is the worst group I’ve ever shot. I’m not a great shooter, and I’ve only recently (March 2020) gotten back into shooting, but that last group has me sick. My expectation is that I should be able to group within the same area as a pie-plate at 50 yards? I was hoping I could shoot the first group consistently after adjusting my elevation up. I know it’s hard to evaluate someone’s shooting without being there but has anyone else ever experienced anything similar to this?
  15. DFWSFO, Just wanted to offer my sincerest thanks for your help and taking the time to post on this subject and offer an alternative. I appreciate your willingness to spend some time and trying to help me resolve my concern. Thank you. I decided to go with the ScalerWorks mount and the RMO6. My M4’s primary role is home defense and although I don’t like the co-witness view it just seemed to make more sense given my desire to have the iron sights readily and immediately accessible In the event of an (albeit rare) optic failure.
  16. DFWSFO, Wow! That looks good. That looks real good.
  17. Thank you for posting those. If the SRO were more durable that’s exactly the setup I would get. As it is I’m happy with the height of the stock ghost ring sights so I’m leaning towards the Scalarworks SYNC and RMR, even though it means putting up with the busy co-witness sight picture I’m not fond of. But I’m still debating between that and DFWSFO’s Aimpoint T2 setup.
  18. Birdog19, I do have the telescoping stock but I find it uncomfortable at anything other than the maximum extension while dressed without-winter-coat casual. The ghost ring iron sights are not in a bad position for me but I don’t feel like anything slightly higher would be either.
  19. Please do. I’ll be interested in hearing your opinion.
  20. Thank for the replies; I didn’t realize the SRO was a less rugged optic so I guess that makes the RMR the best choice. DFWSFO: I considered other optics on the factory pic rail but was concerned with the comments on this forum about the weakness of the pic rail given its sight groove. I also wanted access to the iron sights in case of a failure of the optic. Has the factory pic rail been an issue for you? Does your mount have a quick detach?
  21. OK, the many great reviews here have convinced me to give the Scalarworks Sync mount a try on my M4. I’m not a big fan of a “busy” sight picture but so many positive comments here must mean that owners are happy. I notice that the Scalarworks is offered with the RMR or SRO optic. I’m not sure what the difference is between the two or what the Scalarworks mount will mean for the sight picture of either one. Any advice or suggestions?
  22. Wow! I’m really surprised that there are so many proponents of the smaller sized red dots. I was ready to order the 6 mos size after reading on another forum “Jerry Miculek uses a vortex venom but with a custom 8moa dot on his pistol and his old 6moa rmr on his shotgun.” Now I’m not so sure which to get.
  23. Looking at several red dot options and not sure which size red dot is most appropriate. I’m guessing my primary range for the M4 would be 50 yards or less. Is there a general rule or suggestions for appropriate size?
