  1. The Langdon Tactical 1301 web-page is blank with a “There are no products listed under this category” message. I’ve suspected this was coming with Beretta updating the 1301 (some referring to it as a Gen 3). I was curious as to how Langdon would handle the newer 1301 magazine tube compatibility (or lack thereof) with the Zhukov hand-guard and nordic extension in their package. I guess Beretta’s updates stole much of Langdon’s thunder. Kinda bittersweet - I was greatly tempted by the LTT 1301 when pictures were posted even though research showed that for my use it would clearly be very much inferior to the Benelli M4.
  2. The IWC mount does include the screws. I’m running a Surefire M600DF with the IWC mount. I unscrewed the M600DF from the factory Surefire picatinny mount and, using the screws supplied with the IWC mount, loctited and screwed it on the IWC mount. Super easy and a great solution I’m very happy with.
  3. ? Good night nurse! Nods, one M4 Entry and another on the way, Surefire lights, Scalarworks mounts and T2’s, boxes and boxes of suppressors….. [In my best Ron Swanson voice] What’s a non-gay way for me to ask you to go camping? ?
  4. Check cashed May 30th, 2021. According to Reddit/NFA the AFT is just now on early March 2021 Form 4’s.
  5. @Unobtanium, you are killing me. It will be at least several more months until my M4 Entry gets out of Form 4 purgatory. I’ll be setting mine up nearly identically to yours. The only thing worse than looking at pictures of yours is looking at the pile of accessories I’ve already bought and have ready to go once I receive the “stamp is in” phone call. Seriously, that’s a good looking M4.
  6. @DailyEDC, That is probably the most generous offer I have ever received from from a relative stranger on the internet. Thank you! I may revisit this later but as of now I’ve kinda resolved to keep the old 870 in service as my “nearly fifty state legal self-defense longarm”. I’d really like to upgrade to a short barrel (18” +/-) semi-auto but I’m not sure doing so would maintain the “old guy defending himself with a simple shotgun” image in some of the more liberal areas I might find myself traveling in. I can still run the 870 fairly well, but it’s not very easy in non-standard shooting positions. I’ve seriously considered the base model Benelli M4 and Beretta 1301 but they still look a little too tactical for me given I could find myself in front of a New England / Canadian / California jury if I had to defend myself. It makes me sick that I have to consider a second best option to defend myself in some areas but I think times have changed and there are a lot of people in some areas that might be on a jury that would view tactical style firearms very negatively. That being said, one of my M4’s is still very much my “go-to” in any state other than the above. ?
  7. That was an interesting read. The description of your current M4 Entry build and components has given me some ideas for my own when it (hopefully) gets out of jail in a couple of months. I watch for your posts here and on pistol-forum.com. Thanks for being a voice of knowledge and reason.
  8. Well, now I’m not sure what to think. The 14 3/8” LOP seems pretty long. Is that significantly more than the c-stock fully extended?
  9. I need a shotgun I can travel with. Needs to be legal in New York State + Canada (five round magazine tube) and California (no ”evil” features). Currently using a 90’s era Remington 870 as a travel gun to those areas and I want to upgrade to a semi-automatic. My current M4’s all have the collapsible stock so I’m thinking about picking up a model with the fixed field stock and five round magazine tube. This would keep me in my comfort range with the same manual of arms and ability to set up a light and optic identical to my current M4’s. I've never seen in person or been able to shoot the M4 with the field stock. Does anyone have one that can give me some input? Is the length of pull similar to a fully extended collapsible stock? Is it similarly comfortable? I’m grateful for any advice or opinions.
  10. @mashir, glad to help. I went with the Scalarworks Sync T2 setup because I wanted a good cheek weld on the middle setting of the c-stock on one of my M4’s. I have another M4 with the RMR that is great while using the stock fully extended, but in the middle position the Scalarworks RMR sits too low. The Scalarworks Sync / RMR is absolute co-witness and the Scalarworks Sync / T2 is lower 10th cowitness. I’ll also add the folks at Scalarworks are absolutely awesome.
  11. @mashir , I have a Scalarworks Sync / T2 combo that I use with the collapsible stock in the middle position. It doesn’t allow me to use the iron sights but the T2 is positioned perfectly (dot centered in housing) with a good cheek weld. If I extend the c-stock I can use the irons or the T2 co-witnessed.
  12. Sukhoi_fan, thank you for taking the time to put this information together. This certainly provides some options. I understand your point about the shotgun cards. It makes sense having the extra ammo on the gun. It’s just adding so much weight……. I might just buy pajamas with pockets and keep a half dozen rounds in one of the pockets when I sleep. ?
  13. I’ve spent the night looking at shoulder bags but I haven't really found anything suitable for just shotgun shells. The Maxpedition Versipack would allow me to maintain a “ready bag” with shotgun shells, AR mags, and even a handgun and mags but it’s a lot bigger, bulkier, and heavier than I was hoping for. I just want something small that I can grab in the middle of the night and throw over my shoulder or an easy to grab and go pouch of some kind for shotgun shells. A belt or vest seems like a lot to deal with when I hear a bump in the night. I appreciate you guys taking the time to have posted suggestions. Thank you.
  14. As much as I like to imagine I’m a tier one operator type, Father Time is convincing me otherwise. I can still manage my M4 competently fully loaded but with a side saddle and seven extra rounds I’m slowing down when it comes to transitioning between targets. I considered a bandolier but I’m not sure that would allow me to get shells out quickly if I needed to. Maybe there’s some type of shotgun shell pouch I could keep with my M4 to throw over my shoulder if I needed?
  15. Thanks truckcop! You are exactly right. I emailed Federal and they confirmed that it’s identical except for the color of the hulls.
  16. My M4 likes PB127DPRS but I haven’t seen it in stock anywhere for months. I have seen the LEB127DPRS available. Is there a difference between LEB127DPRS and PB127DPRS ? Both are listed at 1350 fps.
  17. After researching on this forum I went with the Scalarworks RMR package for my M4. Absolutely love it. It’s accurate and target acquisition is very fast. But I’m worried about all-weather conditions usage. Users on other forums have mentioned some issues with the RMR in the rain / snow. I myself have had the RMR fog up going from the (air conditioned) car to the outdoor shooting line. I’m wondering if the Aimpoint T2 might be a better option in bad weather? Has anyone had any issues with the RMR in rain or snow? Why is the RMR the preferred choice over the T2?
  18. Benelli Standard 12 Gauge Flush Choke Tube - Cylinder at shopbenelli.com. https://www.shopbenelli.com/choke-tubes/BSF-12CHK They have (and have had) every choke in stock except for cylinder. It came in stock about a month ago at 2:00 am (email notification received then) and I decided to wait until morning to order. Out of stock by morning and not back in stock since. Of all the things I’ve waited for over the last year or so a regular cylinder choke is the one I scratch my head about. Am I missing something that these are the new hotness and in demand for some reason?
  19. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I am very tempted by the LTT Beretta 1301 every time someone posts pictures / information about it but I’ve promised myself I won’t buy another shotgun that isn’t better than a Benelli M4. The Beretta might be very, very good but I have yet to see anyone post any reason why it’s better. I keep a Benelli M4 beside my bed for the bumps in the night because I want the most durable and reliable semi-auto shotgun available for protecting me and my family. And I keep coming back to that quote you posted from the owner of Battlefield Vegas - “If I ever had to have one shotgun for the rest of my life, it would be the Benelli M4.”
  20. Agreed, Brenneke’ s are my go-to slugs for that reason. This guy found fliers to be an issue with the Federal tungsten / lead free buckshot: I guess I’m right back to where I started. ?
  21. Unobtanium, thank you for taking the time to post that information! Interesting that you’ve found better patterning with the Federal High Density loads vs the Hornady Critical Defense. I guess I really should give it a try myself but it’s darn expensive. Are you using the standard modified choke? I noticed a big difference with Federal and Hornady buckshot (markedly tighter patterns) after swapping to a cylinder choke in my M4. I’ve watched your YouTube videos too with M4 Entry / Federal 13200 examples. Great stuff. The M4 Entry is cylinder choke, correct? I’ve had a Remington 870 loaded with Federal 13300 (8 pellet variety of your Federal 13200) for years. I’d love a Federal 00 buckshot full power loading with the FliteControl wad and 8 pellet variety but the Hornady Critical Defense is the closest I’ve been able to find. I guess I’m showing my age with my preference for the 8 pellet loads. Have you experienced any reliability or penetration issues with the Federal 13200 loads? My home defense threats include bears and cougars so decent penetration is a significant concern for me.
  22. My Buckshot of choice for the past several years has been the Hornady Critical Defense 8 Pellet Buckshot with the Versatite wad (Stock #86240) due to its 1600 fps velocity and the 8 pellet variety which lowers the chances of a flier. I don’t want the potential flier but want the velocity for good penetration. The Federal ammunition site has recently shown availability for Vital-Shock 00 Buckshot High Density Lead Free (Stock #PHD15900). This is a 9 pellet buckshot using the FliteControl wad and stated velocity of 1600 fps that Federal claims is “high density tungsten alloy pellet construction”. I can’t find any information other than Federal marketing releases for this ammunition. I’m wondering if the tungsten alloy would limit pellet deformation that might cause the 9th pellet flier? Anyone have experience with the Federal ammunition or can suggest a better alternative?
  23. I was worked up and worried over nothing. It really was easy and, like yours, mine went on without needing any modification. This really is a nice modification. The sling and light really make this a tier-one home defense weapon.
  24. Thanks for the vote of confidence! I’m excited to get it and try it out. I went with the IWCS light mount too so both of these will allow me mount a light and sling to my M4. Woe be to the poor fool who would find himself in my home intending to do harm after next week! ?
  25. OK, I found pictures Stranger Danger posted in this thread: Sorry I posted before looking as well as I should have. I’m pretty worried about this. Hopefully my buttstock is one that accepts the qd mount easily.
