  1. The TTI lifter is a must have in my mind. It makes it much more comfortable to load. I also find a better bold release a must. I bought the TTI bolt release ( i use a tango arms stippled bolt release too ). It is very easy to do. You need a bit and tap but you can get on amazon cheap.I have a TTI safety ( it is awesome ) and I also got a TTI charging handle but their old one is the one i like ( maybe i ve got them mixed up but one of them sucks ). Be careful with charging handles. We ve seen some of the freedom fighter handles mess up peoples receiver ( scratched them up )

    Hi All,

TLDR: Will the Holosun 515 cowitness with a Scarlaworks mount?

Long version: Looking for some assistance - I recently purchased an M4 which will primarily be for home defense and would like a red dot with the circle/dot reticle (which I fell in love with after seeing my friends EOTech).

I bought the EOTech, but then realized it is going to be too high for the M4 to allow co-witness/good cheek weld.

So after doing more research, it seems the Scarlaworks mount will allow a lower mount/cowitenss with the Aimpoint T2.  However, I am really stuck on the circle/dot, shake awake, and solar backup, which led me to Holosun HE515CM-GR.

Will this setup allow co-witness?  I saw the 503r in this thread so I assume yes, but want to confirm (hard to get dimensions without the mount).

As a bonus question, will I run into any issues with the flip DOWN caps?

Also, any other circle/dot options I should consider?

    Thanks!

I am the exact opposite. I don t care about a co witness. A lower 1/3rd is ok but i don t like the front sight and the red dot competing for my eye. We are all different but I like just seeing the dot ( or circle ) I find it easier to get on target fast and just less busy. If you could find a lower 1/3rd cowitness i think that would be the best of both worlds. Good luck buddy.

I bought a M4/1014 for its vaunted ARGO system, and I'm starting to think that's the only feature I'm going to like about this gun - if/when I eventually get a chance to shoot one. In other words, it better be a real smooth shooter or this $2K+ gun will be out of my collection real fast. Here's a summary of some recent posts/experiences (only a few of them are mine) with Benelli that have me wondering if this is the right brand for me:

    > Franklinexpress's blue balls situation in this topic. 😆

    >  I had to return a supposedly brand new H2O that was clearly a used and abused gun. That BS took 4 weeks.

    > The magazine cap retaining spring and pin just fell out of my brand new M1014 so now I'm without that gun for another 3 - 4 weeks while it's getting repaired.

    > Both front sights on my supposedly brand new H2O, and my brand new M1014 came canted/off center from the factory. This is common/acceptable condition on a $2K+ gun???

    > The magazine release button is a joke. Thanks to RX Arms for his quick fix.

    > The gun is hard to load, and even more awkward to unload.

    > The jenky two-piece plastic forend is a joke. I've been around all sorts of firearms for 50 years. If I find putting those two pieces back together to be a finicky PITA in the comfort of my own home - and I've watched many others on YouTube struggle with this finicky PITA feature too - how the hell does a young kid in the military under fire/duress do it? How did this finicky PITA feature even make it onto a combat weapon???

    > And, of course, the heat shield. Yeah, I know, it's not really needed, and real men never drop a burning hot firearm under fire/duress and then have to pick it up and burn themselves, but I'm still surprised some sort of heat shield is not on a combat weapon. When I want to reload fast, the last thing I want to be thinking about is how I have to hold this gun just right so I don't burn myself. The forend on the M4-A1 got that right.

OK. Rant over. I'm just ticked off right now after several weeks of delays, and hopefully some eventual range time with my M1014 will set my world right.

    Serenity now! 😆

WOW...i feel for you man i would be super frustrated. I got a M4 H20 and it is a little difficult to load fast. I recommend using the taran tactical lifter, It is extended and doesn t pinch ur thumb like the oem one. Also I like the Taran tactical safety and bolt release. It is easy to drill and tap the bolt release. I swapped the Taran bolt release for a stippled tango arms one. I had my forends stippled and it makes a HUGE difference. Man i really hope you get it sorted out. When it functions like it is meant, it is awesome. They are super expensive but i think they are worth it.

  4. I have often wondered that too. Are there followers you can buy that gives you any advantage ( easier loading , faster loading, or just more comfortable loading ). I am using a black freedom fighter follower now but would give some other one a try if it had any advantags.

  5. you ll love it man. I bought a M4 too for my first shotgun and so glad i did. I have a h20 and took it out with birdshot, slugs, and buckshot. I shot about 25 buckshot and slugs without any issues  at all. I wanted to mix them up and see if it would eat all of them without problems. I loaded buckshot, slugs, birdshot, and som clay shot rounds. I also fired them all fast. It ate EVERYTHING. I would also recommend cleaning it really good and put some CLP oil on it. I would fire about 25 or so buckshot and slugs thru it and then try birdshot and mix them up to test it out.

Just got my m1014 (11701CA) and the color is not what I ordered.

Not a huge deal but I expected my gun to look like the one in the image, mine has some kind of bluish gray finish, what are my options? Can I re-anodize at a gunsmith and end up with the result seen in the example image? Would Benelli replace it? If it was dark blue like some of the other ones I’ve seen on the forum, I would love that as much as the black but man, this color sucks.
It’s hard to see in the image but it looks similar to that one from the YouTuber who went to thunder ranch. Does the color change over time? Mine is brand new.

yeah man I know exactly what you mean. Outside it is much more noticeable. I wanted a BLACK M4 ( like advertised not a blue one. It makes me so mad that you have to think about reanodizing it to get it right. What makes me the most mad is that they made no mention of this. Geissele s adozing has varying shades but they tell you this upfront. When i order a black shotgun i want a black shotgun. I sold mine and got a H20 one. You could always order a h20 one and switch thee stocks and sell the 1014. That way you d have a h20 with collipsable stock. I did this and just sold the 1014 about 250 less.

  7. About a yr ago I order a black M4 and am so excited to get it. I get it and it is a bright blue. I hated it and was super mad. I sold it and ordered another black one. Figuring the first one was a fluke......nope the second was blue also ( little darker shade but blue ). The blue is much more noticable outside. Some people like the blue but not me. I hate it and pretty mad that a 2k shotgun doesn t look like advertised. I sold thee second one and bought a H20. When your selling a shotgun that cost 2k plus the colors should be consistent. It is so weird that you ll see some black ones out there but for the past couple yrs the blue is everywhere.

Took the M4 out today to check shot pattern and check function.

Couldn't get through a box of Fiochi Self Defense load without a stoppage. Like 7 stoppages out of a box of 25. This stuff isn't the most stout load (rated at 1250 fps) but seemed like it was not fully cycling the BCG so it would fail to eject or would not pick up the next round off the elevator. It also failed to lock back on empty.

Perhaps it's the break in period some have mentioned but was so bummed out when it stopped on the first tube of shells through it.

Some of the Black Ace stuff ran fine and patterned decently so I guess I will use that until I can get some properly HD ammo for this.

Any suggestions on if there is anything to check for would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try bird shot. I'm curious if you tried those and had any issues with them.  I have some of those rounds but not sure if I use them or not.

I have 3 of M4's and 2 of them will not cycle Fiocchi loads. Same symptoms as yours.

Oddly, they all function with target loads from any of the other larger manufacturers.

I have some of those I'll have to check them I can't remember if I tried them or not

  10. dam man that sucks. When i got mine i was worried about the break in period i hear people talk about. Mine was fine out of the box. I even mixed clay rounds, bird shot, slugs and buck shot all in one tube and it ate EVERYTHING. I was told to shoot just slugs or buckshot for about 50 to 75 rds to helpm break it in. If i ever have issues , the first thing i do is disassemble and clean thoroughly and inspect things as best as i can. Put it back together and give it a go, if still having issues it prob time to send to Benelli

That wml is on the 1913 section? How solid does it lock up? Is it just a thumb wheel, or...? How many rounds on it? How is the light head isolated from battery stack shock? Is it programmable to only be momentary or rid of strobe or only be constant on or..?

I have a IWI QD mount and fastlight mount. It locks in super easy and super crazy comfortable. It isn t as solid as some other lights but i like it a lot. It sits close to ur gun and it is made for easy use. It has a momentary on and off, regular on and off, and strobe. It is super easy to use. I hate the wml but the wmlx are one of my favorite light. I have prob 300 rds of buckshot, slugs, and birdshot. It doees have thee wheel that secures it but it is kinda like a clamp. It is pretty secure. It is bright too. They are so streamline and isn t in the way at all.

  12. I like inforce WMLX light. It sits close to my shotgun and is very easy to hit with my thumb. It is bright and pretty durable. I like them so much I have one on my Daniel Defense V7 pistol too. They are well thought out and made to make it easy to turn on.

  13. Damm man that sucks. If i sell something I try my best to get it out FAST and make sure to put everything in there that is suppose to go. Your name is on the line and that s all we really have. Especially when selling a top notch expensive shotgun. You should havee been credited some back on items u nver got. Hate that man but glad you let everyone know the process. I ll bet people will be a bit hesitant to buy from this guy after the trouble u had.

  14. Yeah i would be pretty mad about that.  Heck that a 2k gun and i want it to be pristine.  I would be super pissed at myself for not seeing it when first got it.  But hell your excited and can't wait to get it home I'll bet ( at least that how i was lol ). I know you can get cerakoted but shouldn't have to go that route.  Shame benelli want more accommodating.  Hope it works out man.  All you can do is learn from the mistake.  I know I'll check mine thoroughly for to this story.

The thought of drilling and tapping a hole in such a small component and then hanging a lever off it never appealed to me.  Not that I couldn’t do it, it just seems a recipe for disaster.  Catch that lever on something and tear it off and what do you have?

I went with Dave’s Speedbar.  Offers the same ease of operation but is supported by the receiver and handguard, not the release button.  If I catch it on something and dick it up, I just loosen the barrel nut, remove the lever and stay in the game.  Your milage may vary.

Yeah i saw those. Looks like a great idea. I work at a metal shop and drilled and tapped mine. That part is tougher than you d think. There is a long piece on the inside ( kinda like and anchor  ) that gives it a lot of strength. I believe the worse that ll happen is u break that whole piece but that pretty unlikely ( plus it not an expensive part ). It does look like a cool idea though.
