  1. Mine seems to be pretty durable as far as normal use.  If something is scraping or rubbing an area it will rub off.

For example, Where my Mesa 8rnd rail/shell holder was mounted(with rubber backing strip).  When I removed it, there was small dash marks at top.

I think normal wear and tear on a firearm looks good.  Just don't like finish coming off on its on.

Other cerakoted firearms I have, have held up really good.  If you want no wear to show, then better go with the blue/black.

  2. Yes sir.  I think I will give one a try.  I had the M300 scout on the Beretta LTT 1301 and it was in great position, but ate my thumb up a few times.

I have the Streamlight on the M4 with IWC mount with the tape switch and I will leave it there until it gives me a reason to take it off.  I like the pattern it throws.

I did buy a modlite(ouch) and I think I will put it on a rifle.  Thats what I did with the SF M300.

  3. Was quite impressed with the throw on the HLx.  Used it right at sunset the other night at the range and it worked great.

Mainly wondered how good tape would last and how it would handle recoil.

I will probably put a scout light on it.  Just didn't have a spare one.

I do have a surefire with the dual switch tailcap on a m600df and when using tape switch it does seem dimmer.

  4. I put the Streamlight HLx on my M4 w/IWC mount.  Also used the tape switch in the kit.

Never used one of these on an AR.  Always use surefire scouts.  But I have put a few hundred rounds

since installing and I really like it.  Didn't know It would bring down the class level.

Has anyone had a streamlight fail??  This is my first one using a tape switch.

I had first mounted a m300 mini surefire and that bezel ate up my thumb.

Also, if you are going to shoot your gun a lot.  Make sure you locktight that IWC mount.  It will come loose.

  5. Been down that rabbit hole.  There are some nice reasonably priced break barrels out there.

Most .177 are fast and loud.  Settled for a Crossman(reproduction) CO2 in .22 that I made a lot of modifications to

boost the power but try stay subsonic.  Still kinda loud.  Just not like a .22LR.

.22 and .25 cal have quite the punch.

Sometimes on small targets the .177 passes thru and they can go cartwheeling and bouncing off into neighbors yard. LOL

Rangeing your setup is very important.  I setup some targets at different positions in the yard to know my drop.  This allows for headshots.

My favorite break barrel is an RWS 34 that will shoot one hole at 30yds.

Then there's the PCP world.  These are the pre-charged pneumatics.  The glorified co2.  Fill off of a scuba tank, and can get multiple

high velocity shots with little loss.

But, one of the name brand break barrels at big box stores will do the job.  Make sure if you scope that it is an air gun scope.  They have a reverse recoil

that will damage a regular scope.

  6. I installed a 10403 on a field stock and can really tell a difference.

One thing I did to remove and reuse oem screws was to take a ball point pen and unscrew the top

and push on the pointed end of the screw.  This will protect point of screw.

Also put enough lube of some kind on screwdriver so inside and hole has lube.

I backed out screws until buttpad came off, then put pen top in end with pressure and pressed out screws.

I used smaller wiha philips that has small shaft(PH2 X 100).  Hope that helps.
