  1. Yesterday, I went to the range to do a little shooting, keeping sharp as a retired L.E... A friend arrived and became a cameraman for a brief video. I wanted to answer a few questions about mating the new Federal ammo, Force X times 2, with my M2, which no one else had done so far. I also used my Accelerometer to determine scientifically, not by feel or guess, if the new federal loads do recoil less than other standard 00buck loads in my gun. Yes, the new Federal loads do function very well in the M2. Yes, they do recoil less than the other standards loads I had at hand. I shot a short video of such testing, a fun session, only of the above questions. The rest of the shooting was all fun and training, off-camera to keep the video short and on point. IMG_1031.MOV

  3. Largely due to me? No wonder you can't find it...
  4. I got more of the Federal load, and will chrono it this weekend, and also see if it functions in my M2, since no one else seems to take the time to do.
  5. Has anyone shot this new Federal load out of their M2? Since Federal says it has less recoil, just wondering if they work in the M2. I feel confident they do, as I shot skeet with target loads in my M2.
  6. If you only have a split second, your imagined scenario, whether you drink coffee or not, can determine if you survive. If not ALL, coffee drinkers are worthless coming out of deep sleep; I speak from experience on the streets. Most of such and alcohol drinkers, if I kicked their door in, walked, not run, up to their stairs and into their bedroom, they would still be lying there trying to decide if they heard something and what it was. They could have a full auto Mac 10 in their lap and die holding it. The kid's question for you if you have any; others may make another choice. When civilians dream their scenario, mostly from movies, they imagine that they have it covered if they do this or that. As a cop, you learn quickly. Nothing works as you expect. Do you have an alarm? Do you have dogs? Do you have a wife who does not drink beverages that makes you get dead in deadly scenarios in the dark? Will you shoot your wife in the night since you woke up late due to your bad habits and did not realize she went into the hallway to verify something is going on, and you, one in the chamber, no coffee yet, or alcoholic smell coming out of your pores shoots her with your extra second. Your Hollywood scenario is not coming. Bad guys know where you are; your bedroom light is the last to go out. They know you do not have an alarm, and if you are in a moderate house, know this or that, and if you are in a prominent rich place with glass doors and large windows, they can peer through the glass determine where your steps are or if there is a movement of dogs and other intel. Nothing is as you imagine. Prepare your gun as you like. How you respond has nothing to how your gun works, my friend, your life depends on how YOU work! PS: Your comment, "As SD asked" is childest. I answer to whom I care to, PERIOD!
  7. The shotgun of yesteryear had bad reputations for dropped gun discharges. Does anyone know if this is true with the Benelli? If so, how do you know? Where are the facts or studies?
  8. You say cruiser ready, are you a cop, I am retired from the job, and what most departments do is not always the best way. I am not sure if the safety on the Benelli is better than on the Remington 870, but I intend to find out!
  9. My Days old M2 Tactical says IT21
  10. My first day of shooting I was target loads, bird shot and shooting clay birds, which I have not done before except one time the trainer there letting me shoot his double skeet gun. They worked perfectly, and it was a fun to do. My gun is the M2 tactical...
  11. You can buy training shotgun shells, no primer or powder on Amazon to play with the function and actions safely. I just oiled my new one less than a week old, and use those training shells to work the gun to ensure I put it back together properly.
  12. I Found it best to leave the chamber empty, and release one to the carriage. This way if someone finds it and pulls the trigger it won't fire, and all you have to do if needed, is rack the slide and start shooting. Safe both ways.
  13. I did my first shooting session yesterday, and it is a natural pointer for me, and the speed at which I can operate a shotgun is astounding! I played with it at home, and my night time method, is empty chamber, one on the gate ready to go! When the sun comes up, I rack the one on the gate then eject it and put it back in the tube. The chamber is empty, gun safe, and all is well! This way I only have one movement, rack and fire in the dark, and the dark is my speciality. I worked the streets for 25 years, and I love the dark, like a lion I own it! My operations are based on real world action, be it hunting in Africa, or responding to calls on the streetts of America. Real experience can only be had by doing it in real time. This shotgun is a nice partner to have when they come in the dark.
  14. DO YOU LEAVE THE CHAMBER EMPTY AS I AM DOING TONIGHT, MY FIRST NIGHT IT IS ON DUTY. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DROP ON THE TRAY, AND RACK IF NEEDED. I AM THINKING ABOUT KEEPING THAT OR LOADING THE CHAMBER WITH THE SAFETY ON. DOES THE M2 have any issues with it going off if loaded and dropped???
  15. The M2 with the straight stock, since I was trained on a Remington 870 at my cop shop, and as a kid chasing rabbits and pheasants. At my retired age, no sense changing stock style, as I am pretty good with it, so why change? I doubt slugs will be on my agenda, unless I take it camping.
  16. Which choke is best for home defense ranges, opinion and or actual testing!
